I was very shattered Saturday to sign online and learn of the death of our beloved Barney, Don Knotts. I grew up watching him not just on TAGS but also in a bunch of 1970s Disney films including "The Apple Dumpling Gang," "Gus" and "No Deposit No Return," the last co-starring Darren McGavin, who we lost the day after Don). But I spent much of the weekend watching my DVDs that featured Barney-centric classic episodes like "The Big House," "Barney Gets His Man" and "Dogs Dogs Dogs." I always hoped to meet him and am shattered that will never happen at least not on earth. God rest his soul.
