That may be true, but according to Andy's standup the idea of "slittin" shoes was to make them more comfortable for country boys who weren't used to being shod in leather shoes. Or any shoes at all, thank youi. Corns, Bunions, I'll fitting areas etc. Theyd slit the the uppers at a critical point . to make them comfortable. Remember when Otis went for his Historical Plaque and was late becuase of that shoe thing- what did he say, he had too much feet for his shoes. I can't find the CD right now, so I'm paraphrasing, but Andy said that he bought a new pair of shoes for $1.25 and they hurt his feet. He cut a slit in them and then said "I wouldn't take a dollar and a quarter for that hole" Jeff Krentz -BigHead in Dee-Troit (O'Malley says "Put a Buckeye in your pocket!") _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
