Re: I was watching the "Fun Girls" episode last night, and my keen
powers of observation kicked in during the scene where Thelma Lou and
Helen are sitting at the table with Gomer and Goober at the dance. I
saw Mr. Schwamp sitting down at a table in the background, so I
started watching him instead of the main characters. He is seated
with a woman, and they appear to actually be carrying on a
conversation. Of course, you can't hear him, but you can see his lips
moving just like a normal person talking! It seems weird to see Mr.
Schwamp's lips moving! I'm so used to seeing him just smile and nod.
Even when he is purely in the background of a scene, I don't recall
seeing him engaged in conversation at any other time.

What a coincedence: we were doing the same thing last night, and I
found that not only did I watch Mr Schwamp in the background, but I
rewound the disc to watch him again - it is mighty curious to see him
talking like regular folks!

Perhaps his identity is a mystery we don't need to solve.

Speaking of solving mysteries (I know this doesn't have anything to do
with TAGS, but I thought I'd mention it anyway): we were watching an
episode of "Columbo" on disc last night, and I solved a mystery that
has plagued the TV world for decades - I know the Lt's first name!
Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but when he flashed his ID to
someone, I paused the screen and had a close-up look, and there it
was, fairly clear at that! Perhaps it helps that I now have a plasma
TV with a much clearer picture than I have enjoyed in the past, I
don't know.

Now, I don't want to spoil anyone's love of a good mystery, so I won't
mention his name unless y'all really want to know!
