I think just about every Mayberry character can teach us something about living
a better life. Here's some things that came to my mind.
Mr Schamp and the Darling Boys - silence is not only golden, it can be funny.
Charlene and Briscoe Darling - affection and love have their proper time,
place, and recipient.
Skippy and Daphne - have as much fun as possible.
Helen and Thelma Lou - forgiveness toward your man.
Lydia and Jimmy - food that's too heavy or explosive is bad for you.
Aunt Bee and Malcolm Merryweather - the importance of caring for other
people's needs.
Andy and Barney - loyal friendship.
Opie - true charity.
Leon - sharing.
Ernest T and Howard - take care of your mother and/or mother figure.
Dapper Dan, Colonel Harvey, Maude, Sally, Naomi, Shoplifters etc. - crime
doesn't pay.
