In my rather long epic poem "The Sites of Mayberry", I had to leave out a
few very important places. However, I felt so bad not including the Rimshaw
House, I did a short one just about it. Hope you don't mind my posting here
for you, as I know many of you enjoy that episode as much as I do.

The Rimshaw House

Broken windows, cobwebs, and dust everywhere

Moving eyes caused by light and axes floating in air.

Secret doorways fly open pulling all out of sight

Stairways that creak and go bump in the night.

Dark cellars so spooky filled with cold damp air

Even homeless old bums would never venture there.

Torn wallpaper that's warm and a fireplace so cold

Murder's been done in this house so the story is told.

On the night Rimshaw died he went alone to his grave

With a curse and a warning to the bold and the brave.

Stay away from this house were the words he did say,

He promised he'd return every night and each day.
