Greetings From The Land O' Elvis!
Sorry I haven't been up on things lately, but I have been tied up
(joyfully) with my first grandbaby. His name is Elijah and he's almost a year
old.
(I was holding out for Andrew/Andy but was outvoted.)
When I think of TAGS characters who influenced me and made me want to be
a better man, I don't even remember his name. He was the man from out of
town who told everyone "Why, Mayberry is my hometown.") I am always moved by
that episode because; being an Army brat, I really had no "hometown". I
couldn't
help but think there would be room for one more.
I am also inspired by the "Man in a hurry". When he sings along with
Andy and Barney, it brings tears to my eyes. Just his expression while singing
reveals all he sacrificed to be a success. When he began to sing along, I
could see a child or young man in a small town church singing, and lost his
way
to find "Importance or Success", whatever you want to call it. When I first
saw the episode years ago, I didn't see deeper meanings found there. Sometimes
it is the characters an episode revolves around who bring out the best in
Andy and Barney.
Still looking for work with Bobby Fleet,
Eric in Memphis
