Flipping the remote the other day, a Beverly Hillbillies episode was on that reminded me of Bloody Mary & Otis' time on the rock. The Clampett's had taken in a wild "GO-RILLA"; Jethro & Ellie Mae were bickering over who had first dibbs on it....as they all flew out the back door, Jed hollered: "Hold up, THERE'S ENOUGH APE THERE FOR EVERYBODY". Then, Granny put the "GO-RILLA" to work ironing, the ape/man in the gorilla suit snuck out of the kitchen and was about to drive off in Mr. Drysdale's car when Granny came out & started riding herd on that primate; she had a switch, and as they went to the front door, Granny turned to Miss Jane & Mr. D., and said "SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE APE."
