>>>I was watching the TOS Star Trek I believe the episode was the City on the Edge of Forever. ...Do you think this could have been the same buggy and quite possibly the same horse?
It's definitely the same Dogwood Dairy Farms wagon, and very likely the same horse too. Dolly the white horse also appeared in a Gomer Pyle episode. The Mayberry Main Street set (including courthouse, barbershop, and grocery) was used in this Star Trek episode. Downtown Mayberry can also be seen in another ST episode, entitled "Miri." This one is especially interesting, because when the crew first beams down, a crane shot is used, giving us an overhead view of Mayberry that we never get to see on TAGS. For an even more unusual view of Mayberry, go rent the DVD "Switchblade Sisters" (1975). It's a terrible movie, but it's believed to be the last production shot on the 40 Acres backlot before it was bulldozed. It's really strange, and also sad, to see downtown Mayberry looking like a slum. If you do rent this DVD, do yourself a favor and just skip the first two-thirds of the movie and watch only the last part, that's the part which was shot on the Mayberry lot. --Paul _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
