Re: Whilst enjoying a marathon of The Twilight Zone, I noticed many episodes
that featured guest actors from TAGS. Although too numerous to mention all,
I did see one episode that had way yonder more actors than other episodes.
The TZ episode I refer to was "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank".
Featured in this episode were James Best, Dub Taylor, Edgar Buchannan, and
Jon Lormer. Now, just a little stretch here; William Fawcett (Pa Stockdale)
also appeared. Does that count?

Barn, I was just about to post that same thing! I had to believe some of
y'all had seen it too, but in addition to those you mentioned, how about
this one: Myrtlebank's father was played by Forrest Lewis, who was of course
Jimmie's paw, Cy Hudgins in "The Loaded Goat".

Now, "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank" has always been one of my favorite
"TZ" episodes, and I told James Best as much at "Mayberry Days 2004" as I
clasped his hand (he has soft hands). A great actor, he!

One more point here: did you notice the episode right before "Myrtlebank"
this morning, "Hocus, Pocus and Frisbee" (another favorite - I adore Andy
Devine) featured Floyd Colby Lawson and Harry Simms ("Andy, I don't think
you're being fair to the Simms'") as Frisbee's cronies? And then there was
the Griffith episode with a "Mr Frisbee"! My, what a small world it is!
(Either that, or the Twilight Zone lies right next to Mayberry on that great
map of Golden Age television.
