I think I've said something about this before, but in Merchant of Mayberry,
the 1st time Ben approaches Andy and Barn on the sidwalk, the shots don't
make sense.

Andy and Barney are standing in front of Crowley's market with Crowley's
vacant lot next to them. We know building on the other side of the lot is
the hotel with the Grand Theater next to that. We see Ben crossing the
last few steps in the street then stepping up onto the sidewalk almost under
the marquee of the Grand. Ben is going the wrong direction since Andy and
Barney would have been standing behind him.

Hey, I've been seeing all these comments about someone talking about
"shaking Don Knotts." I clearly remember Don on the old Steve Allen Show
and "shaking Don Knotts" would not have been out of character.

Jay,

Don't give it a second thought about the "silly" discussion. Sure, I know
that it would be very expensive to get all those famous actors and actresses
in one movie (not to mention the arguments that would ensue as to who would
get top billing), but reading everyone's opinion of who should play who was
very entertaining. I bet that is what you had in mind when you started the
discussion. No one should be upset about just talking about it. After all,
if Hollywood really did do a remake, we little people would have no say in
who should be cast.

If there ever was a real Mayberry Town I know what I do,
I'd raise my arms and wave at you, and then...
I would ride around in a car with my head sticking out the window just like a
dog 'cause I get car sick--from eating too many chocolates.
Sign me Lydia (It means Native of Ancient Greece, but that's
not where I'm from, I'm from Shady Grove. What'd you think?
I'm from Ancient Greece?)

Sorry to get off topic, but if there are any Car Talk fans here, be sure to
tune in to this weekend's show. They told me they'd be using one of my
puzzlers.

P.S. For them that don't know, Car Talk is a comedy/automotive advice show
on National Public Radio. Each week they present a brain teaser, known as
"The Puzzler."

Sounds like the premise for the movie, "Westworld" where people payed to
live out their fantasies, 'cept in that movie, things went terribly wrong.

I also agree that people throwing out names for their fantasy Mayberry
movie is a fun thing to do. There's no movie in the works, so no need
to pick your peaches before their all fuzzed up good.

Thanks again Allan for all you do, because one of the best parts of my day is
sitting down to
read the digest. I love how everyone is able to come here to the digest and
talk about TAGS and Mayberry and all the things about them both that we all
love. We all come from different walks of life and may not always agree on
everything, but one thing we all have in common is a love for all things TAGS
related. With all the bad things in the world that go on and that we see in
the news each day, the digest is a place to escape to that brings peace and
calm to my day. When I see all the different folks that write to the digest
that I have had the privilege and honor to meet, it just warms my
heart.......you know... kind of like when Opie took care of Winken, Blinken and
Nod.. when Andy told Opie that he loved him just because he was his son...when
Andy told Aunt Bee that she and him and Opie were a family.....! It also makes
me wish I could be introduced in person to all of you here at the digest that I
haven't gotten to meet yet. Maybe that wish will come true at the next
 Mayberry event.

........Oh Paw...that one makes me cry......

One of Cincinnati's Biggest TAGS Fans!!!

"That would be cool Twilight Zone kind of thing."

Super wow! Cool! I write, and that struck my imagination for a one-act to be
mulled over. May I use it? If it works out to completion, I'll post it. If
it ever gets produced, I'll let everyone know. If it ever makes money, I'll
split it with Jan. (Don't hold your breath. In twenty years of writing,
resulting in 18 productions, only 3 have ever earned anything.)

"It may seem trivial... but, it is a high point for me."

Paraphrasing Ghandi (an unseen presence in Mayberry): It's not important what
you do. The important thing is that you do it.
