Okay Paul and Cheryl, ya caught me. I didn't reailize anybody would make
such a big mulage out of this. But don't worry, even though you two might
be obtuse and have correction compelsions, it's okay. I've been inarculated
against people like you.

"I had always heard Barney use the name Bernard P. Fife. However, in the
episode where Andy and Barney have a high school reunion, they are looking
through the yearbook and it denotes Bernard Milton Fife beside his
picture."

That's some observing. I'm impressed!

I don't think I've ever realized exactly where the Rimshaw House was in
relation to Andy's. I did know it was up the street but my photo of 40
Acres doesn't make it clear that Andy's house is right next door. In The
Haunted House episode, they do a good job of covering up the architecture on
the side next to Andy's. But in a couple of front shots, you can clearly
see Andy's garage to the left.

Hi,

When I read the mention of Barney having 2 middle names, another one came to
mind. Didn't Andy in one episode say "I thought your middle name was
Oliver". So that would make his name Bernard P. Milton Oliver Fife wouldn't
it?

Does that mean Barney has 3 middle names then, Bernard P. Fife, Bernard
Milton Fife, and Barney Tibbs Fife?

I would feel offended at what Louer and that woman Peterson said of Mayberry
and Barney Fife,as well, and I didn't even see that show. Ms. Peterson is
just upset that Scott is going to death row.
(talk protecting a criminal and a murderer, but I guess they would). Here
they're griping about "Mayberry PD" and "Barney Fifes" investigating the
Laci Peterson murder. Welll if Mayberry PD did that good enough job, and
Barney did a helluva good job investigatin, enough to get Peterson convicted
of the charges, and put on death row, I say kudo's to Mayberry and Barney.
they got a right to take a bow indeed.

I don't watch any of the crap that comes out on TV today I watch VCR tapes
of ANDY and The Clampetts. I got one other series too 96 episodes of
Adam-12.
Whole lot better TV back in them days then the fare that's on now

Not only that, but in one episode, Andy asks him, "I thought your
middle name was Oliver?"

Love those inconsistencies.

This hit home. I used to be on a bulletin board for crime reporters. One
reporter went off on Barn and Andy in a negative light while talking about the
department he covered.. As one who lives in the great state of North Carolina,
I
took it upon myself to lightheartedly remind him of the virtues of Mayberry
and its Sheriff's Department. Everyone's friendly and caring in Mayberry.
Problems are solved in 30 minutes (or 22 minutes for you sticklers). You can
leave
car and house doors unlocked there. And bout the worst thing that happens is
Otis getting drunk too often (and even then, people take care of him and have a
soft heart for him).

The positive response to my post was AMAZING! :) You'd think crime reporters
would spend all their time watching CSI and Law And Order -- but it turned out
most were like me, hooked on Barney and Andy! :)
