Well, my birthday is friday April 15 (good birthday for a CPA, huh? -)
and my daughter said that I am going to be very happy with my present. I
dropped about 14 or 27 and a half hints that I wanted those dang ange
pants, so I hope that is what she is talkin' about, hah!

Wow! I love E-bay! You learn something new every day. There is no "Archie
Griffith" of notoriety, but there is the one and only "Archie Griffin." He is
the
only college football player to win the Heisman Trophy twice. (What is was,
was football). He played in four Rose Bowls in Pasadena, real close to Desilu.
He later played with the Cincinnati Bengals. "You don't in Cleveland!" as Sam
Wyche once said. Of course, we all know the Andy Griffith/Merv Griffin hybrid
from SCTV.

Have been a fan for years. Like Jim Clark, had a college and divinity
school experience where friends discussed TAGS. Of course, the
theological implications are staggering! While at divinity school
(1986-1989) I had to write 7 devotionals for writing class that were

course, I've preached a sermon using the show - opened it up by singing,

Hi. My name is Albert and I'm just a regular American joe who grew up in
Southern California during the "black & white TV years" of the early
60's. My youth was one of nuclear attack sirens and drills, rock and
roll & electric guitars.(and LOTS of television!) I served a 4 yr hitch
in Uncle Sam's Marines and then settled down. Although I don't watch as
much TV as I used to, I always try to tune into "Andy" when possible. It
also never ceases to amaze me just how good some of those episodes
really are. It's also good to know that there are quality, Mayberry-type
folks who support the old shows and give them the respect they deserve.

The calendar mystery is solved. (At least one of them, anyway) I saw the
episode last night where Goober thinks his dog can talk and where you can
clearly see the barber shop calendar is set for February because there are only
28
days. This means no leap year, which means it could not be 1960, 1964, or
1968. (TAGS Years). Upon further review you could tell on that particular
calendar Feb. 28 was on a Sunday. Assuming it was a real calendar used during
the
time period of filming, therefore, the year had to be 1965 because it was the
only "non leap year" during TAGS filming where Feb. 28 was on Sunday.
(I checked this out with the calendar machine down at the courthouse and
they are good! Real Good!)
