In the b/w episodes, what's the make/model of Barney's pistol? Also, the
Thompson that he handles in Black Day For Mayberry, is it a fireable
one(like what Desilu had going w/the Untouchables) or is it an inop prop? I
always thought it would have been great had Barney ripped off a burst in the
air as the armored truck was driving away.

I saw the episodes with the Taylors in Hollywood. Isn't quite the same when
they are not in Mayberry. I noticed a few things that were interesting. At
least they were to me.
1. The hotel room, the movie studio, and Darlene Mason's apartment were all
painted the same green color as everything in Mayberry.
2. Andy told Darlene that he never had escargot, but he was willing to try
anything once. Not that was not really true. When he took Miss Peggy to
Raleigh to eat, she ordered escargot for Andy, but he refused to try them.
3. When Darlene Mason told Andy that she grew up in Kansas, he did not look
at all surprised, nor did he even mention that Helen was from Kansas. Of
course at this point Darlene did not know about Helen, but it would have
been the perfect time for Andy to say, "Kansas, what a coincidence. My
girlfriend, Helen, is from Kansas."
4. I believe Aunt Bee gave up all her gifts from the quiz show with the
exception of the garbage disposal. But in a later episode she buys a new
one with money from the lost pin because she gave hers up that she won.
(Now I am not 100% sure on this one, so please let me know if I am wrong."

Thanks for the Birthday wishes - sorry the sleep pants issue
has been run into the ground, hah!

much on that subject
