Thank you sir for saying that. I've been thinking it for some time now but
its not my place to complain. So you know what I've been doing? Just not
reading the newsletter. The only reason I read your comment is I noticed
that you posted it and thought it may be worth looking at. Good moderation
there, chief!

Allan and everybody.
Maybe I missed something here. And i'm sorry if it offended anybody with
my quotes.
I was just having fun joking about the silly "sleep pants" thing - I
never thought that it was to irritate another member of our group. I
would never do that.
Sometimes we do run things into the ground, that's the nature of a group
of folks that watch a forty five year old show with the dedication that
we do.

I was watching the Gold Truck Episode yesterday and I think I noticed
something. When the two men from the treasury set down to wait for Andy they
have their hats in their hands. When Opie comes in to look for Andy he walks by
the men and for a split second it shows them. They have on hats, when he walks
to Barney and looks around at them they don't have on hats. Also, one of the
men is Rance Howard isn't he? It also looks like at that point their is a
different man setting in the seat on the end. Anyone notice anything odd in
that scene or am I wrong?

>>>>I've been re-watching the episodes on my first-season DVD's and
noticed something for the first time last night while watching "Cyrano
Andy." I don't know why I didn't catch this before, but it stood out
like a sore thumb to me this time! The set used for Thelma Lou's house
looks like the set of Andy's house. (This isn't the same set used for
Thelma Lou's house in later episodes.) When Andy first visits Thelma
Lou to tell her how much Barney likes her, I realized that the interior
door and living room windows were just like that in the Taylor home.
Only the furniture was different. Then when Andy comes back and sits
with Thelma Lou on the porch, I realized that the exterior of the house
was exactly the same, too -- same door, same windows, same siding.
Seems odd they would use the same set, unless they were over budget that
episode and couldn't afford to build a separate one! Anybody else
notice this? I don't recall it being mentioned before.<<<<<<
Yes, I have noticed great similarity in the houses. I think they only
used a few houses for the various dwellings and neighborhoods. I think
most of the houses were right there next to Andy's which was across the
street from the church which you can see in many of the early episodes,
especially. For example, in "My Fair Ernest T. Bass," at the end when he
and Ramona (Romeena) are running and giggling through the yards down
from Mrs. Wiley's, if you notice, they go right past Andy's house. What
do you think?

Just back in town so a bit late but wanted to throw my two cents in on Howard.
I think some would refer to him as a nerd but he endeared himself forever when
he told Millie that he added some place to his honeymoon itinerary cuz he just
wanted to share it with her. That's how my beloved was and I cherished him for
it. Howard's terrific as far as I'm concerned. But I'm fond of Goober too!
