I was really touched by Johanna's entry, & sure didn't mind another mention of
the sleep pants. One of the things we all love about TAGS is the relationship
about family. Johanna, I'm so glad that you provided the perfect gifts for your
brother. My dear older brother is no longer here, & I miss our Birthday phone
calls & Birthday cards.
I would never have known of the existance of Mayberry sleep pants, if not for
the entries about them since I live a far piece from Y'all.

Hey to all-
I have a question.
Can anyone recall when a major character wore sunglasses?
I only remember Aunt Bee wearing them-but-I do not recall the show.
This is driving my husband and I to throwing rocks at one another!
HELP!!

Must..not... post.. about... agggh! Ok, I just stopped myself from posting
about Sl*ep P*nts.

Instead I want to ask some of you better-trained-noticers when the Season 2 DVD
is coming out. I stopped in a Target in St. Louis, MO and asked for TAGS
Season 2 and the sales boy looked at me like I was retarded. I said. "Ever
hear of Andy Griffith?" and I got the same slack-jawed stare. What are they
teachin' em in school nowadays, anyway?

See, I got a birthday coming up and the only 2 things on my list are the season
2 DVD and, um, Sl... acks.

Hey, it is my turn to be Door Keeper at the lodge meeting tonight, but I'd
really rather play cards and drink root beer than stand in front of the
door. I know Goober always likes to be the Door Keeper (and everybody has
gotten over the little Howard Sprague episode) so reckon he'd be willing to
swap?

It's ready for Pre-Order right now at Weaver's. Drop by and check it
out! While you're there....you can check out the "lounge pants (a.k.a.
sleep pants), the new Mayberry boxers and a couple of new Mayberry
related books.

Hi, Jason and anyone else who is interested in the "Andy house":

Dave and I are the couple who are building the Taylor home. In fact, it's
BUILT! We had several delays during construction which is why we haven't
written to the digest yet about the status of the house. First, we had
weather delays (although they were minor delays), and then I broke my leg
several months ago and was wheelchair-bound for about 5 months, and that was
the BIG delay; we had to move out of the house into a 1-level place for
awhile. Last, there is the 'real-world time' and there is 'Clear Lake time'
and the subcontracted workers operate on Clear Lake time...which is barely
discernable as working. BUT~ it's done now! We will be creating a web site
very soon, but right now I am in the process of putting some new photos up
on our Webshots site. I will upload them all this week, and then I will
post the link here on the digest. We have got everything done with the
exception of putting the trim on the front porch skirting, and painting the
columns white. Dave has worked on Opie's window seat just this past week,
and we need to hang a few more pictures on the walls, but we're just about
there! Our hope is to open the Taylor Home Inn (bed & breakfast) in July of
this year. We will write more about that when we've completed the licensing
requirements, but in the meantime be watching for a post from us with the
link to view the photos of the house. And THANKS for asking!!!

I wouldn't mind retiring to Mayberry but I hope they have a DSL or cable
internet hookup. I'd hate to have a dialup modem and not be able to log on
because two old ladies are talking about their feet falling asleep...

Retirement in Mayberry sounds great! Don't forget, occasionally the Fire House
has a boiled dinner. Also listening to band music under the stars, or going to
a dance featuring Freddy Fleet.

Re: Was Helen Opie's teacher the entire time she was on the show? It
seems each grade he was in, she was the teacher.

I know I can't be the only one here who wonders if that bit of good
fortune was the work of Count Iz Van Telecky working overtime!

Re: Ken Anderson's retirement day in Mayberry. I, too spent some of my early
years in a small town - Absarokee, Montana. I think that is why I love TAGS
so much - it reminds me of those wonderful early childhood years. My town was
a lot like Mayberry, even a lot of the same charachters. Except for the
sherrif - Fearless Fred Lane we called him - he and Esa would have been two
peas in a pod. The only thing missing from Ken's day which I would have added,
would have been to sing "the Church in the Wildwood" on the front porch. What
a great episode and song. Those really were the good ole days...

Sure would be nice, wouldn't it? When you're at Wally's, try the Nectarine
Crush. Ice cold and delish'. Buy one for Goober. He works hard! Mayberry
is one sweet place. Increase your life span, three fold!

Gee, in all the moulage over SP, it seems we all may have forgotten the fact
that in just three short weeks, season two is released! I have gotten myself
prepped for the big day by annoying my family by watching my favorite season
one episodes yet again. (They are all good sports about it, honestly.) I am now
currently dropping hints for what would make an especially GOOD Father's Day
gift!
