Opie wore them when Gloria punched him in the eye after they pushed each
other over a football game. I'm pretty certain Andy wore them when he went
to Raleigh to meet with the lady attorney and got sunburned really bad.
Those are the only two I can recall.

Loved both your messages. Yes, my older brother is not around anymore to
email or phone or send funny cards to, etc. He was a member of this
group too and we used to enjoy talking about the Bulletin Board. I can
just see him in those Mayberry sleep pants. Mary Grace in Georgia

I remember Andy wearing sunglasses when he went to meet with the lady lawyer
poolside in one of the color episodes.

Due to moving to a smaller house, several cars have to go!!! One of these is my
'61 Galaxie "Andy Squad Car"!!
This is being sold through an auction service and there's pics of it on their
web site.
I invested about $4500 in this and you can bid by phone (it tells you how on
the web site!).
Check it out at.... www.beyerauction.com

Can anyone recall when a major character wore sunglasses?
Andy wore sunglasses while reviewing testimony with the female attorney
by her pool.
Helen's niece, Cynthia, punched Opie in the eye. Opie wore sunglasses
to hide his black eye when he came down for dinner.

Yes sir Ken hit the nail right on the head.
In this administration I don't believe I will
get the "retirement".. But i do believe Mayberry would be
a BEautiful place to live. I as a crossing guard, would enjoy my job
a great deal more if the only thing I had to worry about was people
ignoring "keep off the grass" signs.
It does make me sit back and wonder how nice it would be
to sit and sing on the porch, buy an ice cream for a dime, and have
peaceful place where everyone knows your name, loves and cares for your
well being.
Yes-- Mayberry is a fantasy place...but I'd be moving in right after Ken &
his wife...working and loving every breath that I could take...

Hi folks,
I was in the bank earlier today.
One of the tellers I am fond of ... looked a little
frazzled...
I asked her.. What is wrong? She said oh its
a stressful busy day and nothing seems to be going right."
I said," I had one of those days Friday night and Saturday..
Just take aa deep breath and think Mayberry...where no one is
in a rush..things don't go wrong..really..and the worst thing that
happens..people ignore keep off the grass signs...
She smiles...and says yeah...have a good day..
I said "you TOO>>>"
NIce how one word can bring people relief...

I looked at my post and realized Gloria was the young lady who came to visit
Andy and Cynthia was Helen's niece. I should have left my bucket on a little
longer before I posted :-)

Hey after we got our pants all caught up in our pitchfork, I thought
maybe we could play a little harmless games of things in Mayberry
starting with SP. We sure don't want to offend anyone. This is a
friendly town.
Did you ever notice that Andy's Sheriff's Patch has a different number
of points on the star than his actual badge?
I guess Reverend Tucker wasn't really a Sin Preacher.
Remember when Ernest T broke the glass in the Sun Porch?
Andy might have bought the Williams place if it had a good Sump Pump.
Aunt Bee really didn't know how to make Sweet Pickles, did she?
Briscoe Darling told a story about a guy that got Swine Pummeled.
Ole Rafe Hollister looked forward to that pie made out of Sweet
Potaters.
Do you think Barney ever taught Otis the correct Salute Procedure?
OK anybody else want a chance?
Sincerely Parney-poo

Andy wore sunglasses in the episode where he had to go and work with the
female lawyer and they ended up outside by the pool. He looked really
sharp in her big, white-framed sunglasses.

Opie wore a pair when he came to the table to eat. He had gotten in a fight
with Helen's niece and was trying to hide the black eye she had given him.

History being your subject, ya'll may know here in Springfield,
Illinois, the Lincoln Presidential Library opened a few weeks
ago...This exerpt is from the current issue of ILLINOIS TIMES, a
weekly free newspaper:
"Security measures at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and
Museum have been decreased during the past four weeks, according to
local law enforcement and sources inside the complex. Ever since a
security guard accidentally discharged his weapon into the carpet on
March 27, all but one guard has been unarmed....One officer
inadvertently fired his weapon while handing the gun over to another
officer inside the security control room."
Don't that beat everything?

If it's any consolation to the folks who can't find the TAGS sleep pants,
WAL-MART does have the 'Happy Days' boxer shorts. So, you can't find the TAGS
lounge pants right now, just wear an older Opie on your drawers.

OR you can just drop by Weaver's and get a pair of your own. Weaver's
has 3 different pairs of Mayberry boxers and I'm not talking about
Malcolmb either.

Hey everyone. Don't post often but have a quick question that I don't think
has been discussed much--if it was I missed it.
Like many of you I got Season 1 of TAGS on dvd. There is a lip synching
problem on one of the first episodes (can't remember which as it has been
some time). Is this a problem that was fixed in later versions of Season 1
or are all the Season 1 box sets out there the same way?
I can put up with it as I am thrilled with the overall quality, but would
apprecate some insight.
Thanks!
Randy

As far as did Opie have any other teacher other than Miss Crump, well she
mentioned that she was replacing a Miss Johnson (?) , I believe, when she first
became Opie's teacher.
But now after she settled in, well now, that lady did indeed seem to settle in.
Good teachers are hard to find even if they do mess up your report card every
once in awhile.
Now on to the issue of did any of the main characters wear
sunglasses. I can only remember Aunt Bee having on a pair once while driving
to the gas station. And that's the only
time for sure I can remember sunglasses.
Personally, I'm more into hair bows and brief conversation...Lydia
