Yesterday I attended a 70th Wedding Anniversary party. The guests of
honor arrived in a Limo..a 1958 Cadillac Seville (with lots of leg
room).
After taking picture of them in front of the car etc. we all went up for
a closer look. Someone said something about the inside so I opened one
of the back doors for all to gape in. I saw the driver cringe a little
and them carefully make his way around the car. When someone grabbed
the door handle and began to close it..the Driver excitedly say's "No No
I'll get that" Then he came around and gently closed the door.
I about fell down laughing picturing Barney with his new Edsel.
I didn't say anything because I don't know if there were other Andy fans
around....but I could tell this thing had been sitting on a velvet
pillow. He probably stops every 30 minutes for a rest.
Now that takes care of the backseat. Now I'll drive so I'll sit in
front.

My two daughters and I went to see Ron Howard's new movie, "Cinderella
Man", yesterday. What a great movie! I've never cared for boxing but
this is a fantastic true story of a good, honest, brave and patriotic
man and his family. Hope this movie gets some Oscars for Ron, Russell
Crowe, and Renee Zellweger. A lot of young people don't know what
hardships people suffered during the Depression, this movie gives you a
little taste of it. Of course Ron's brother and father have parts
as extras in it. Mary Grace in Georgia

HI all
I have to agree with most of you...NO remaking the
TAGS cast. Have any of you seen the remake previous for the Honeymooners?

They sure did tonite, cut the best part too.
It's the episode where those women says Barney shot himself in the foot.
the part cut was where Monroe the undertaker is coming to console andy over
Barney's "death" and Barney walks out, surprising the mortician, and he says
well I better move my car then, it backed up to your door LOL.
but it's a crock of crap that TV Land cuts this whole part out.
Glad I got it on tape.
BTW do all the DVD's have the whole episodes on it, including the very tail
end?

What with all the talk about TAGS DVD's and tv episodes being cut...
Are there any Gomer Pyle, USMC, DVD's out there or and TV stations showing
this program that aren't cut or edited?? Last time I saw Gomer on TV
locally, it was
cut left AND right! HELP! (A.A., MPk.)

Yesterday at church, the speaker led into his message by telling of a T-shirt
he had seen on campus that was one of his favorites. On the back was written:
In life there are two rules. (At this point I thought sure he was going to say
Rule number one was obey all rules but . . .)
Rule number one: There is a God.
Rule number two: You are not him.
(For all you preachers out there - his texts were Proverbs 24:15-29, Luke
6:24-42 and James 4:1-12. The sermon title was Enmity with God.)
Kind behind the eyes.
Why do you have to be a nonconformist like everybody else?

I have to agree...since that movie we've lost Otis, Howard, Helen, Briscoe, and
Ernest T. It's hard to imagine being able to re-cast all these greats.

Friends, just the thought of someone trying to put our favorite show to feature
length film just makes me nervous. How could anyone top what we are now
currently getting in the wonder of the DVD? From what I have been unfortunate
enough to see, the TV shows made into movies have been much less than
flattering. Some have been absolutely terrible. It is my hope that no one ever
tries to re-create the "magic" of TAGS. The standards set were just too high to
duplicate. I say bring on the DVD's for each season and we'll all happily
gobble them up. Sorry, but I do get "all keyed up" over what someone could do
to the show I love best.

Did anyone answer the question about spying the St. Bernard?
Well, I dunno either. My guess would be one appeared when
Opie and Aunt Bee were pulling that wagon load of meat. That's the best I can
come up with. (I don't remember one in the "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs" episode.)
