The TV Guide article is wonderful. It's great to see that people are still
searching for the Mayberry state of mind. If you're interested, my book "In
Search of Mayberry" highlights 12 towns in NC that I felt most closley resemble
our little magical town. All 12 convey that down-home feeling you get when
watching the show. To learn more
visit:http://mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers//book_etc.htm and "lots of luck to
you and yours."

In the last digest I thought it would be funny to sign off with the line that
Andy said to Floyd when Floyd was upset with himself for deceiving Madelyn
Grayson. When I read the digest today I realized I had goofed it up!!! Could
Paul or someone else help me out? Didn't Andy actually say.... "and quit
hollerin' at yourself in that looking glass" ???

I guess this means I have to turn in my trained noticer card. : o (

I was recently in Burlington Iowa, and as I was checking into my motel,
I happened to see a menu for Aunt Bea’s Café and Otis Campbell’s Bar and
Grill. I inquired of the keeper as to where it was and discovered that I
was only about a mile from the locations.
I drove over that evening and found that Otis’s was a very nice
establishment. The next morning, I had breakfast at Aunt Bea’s and found
it to be very quaint. The food was excellent at both places. Examples of
menu selections are; Gomer’s Starters, Howard’s Hot Hoagies, Sara’s
Salad Selections, Aunt Bea’s Finest Dinners, and Sheriff’s Sandwich
Selections, and Otis’ Pizza Parlor. They also have a children’s menu
called Opie’s Favorites.
If you are ever in that area, plan to stop and pay them a visit. They
are located at 111-113 Broadway Street, West Burlington, Iowa.

Mayberry says, thanks and happy motoring!

I'm not positive of the year and model, but I'm fairly sure it was a Rambler
American. Probably about a 1960 or so. Not exactly a car recognized for
"speed, speed, speed...

Lots of luck to you and yours!
