I was just wondering about the "Tribute to Ernest T" that his son David will
give at Mayberry Days this year? Will this be a ticketed event? I didn't
see it anywhere on the surry arts website?
I sure don't want to miss it!

One of my favorite scenes like this is watching the guys in the background
as Barney drives off in his "high speed motor-sicle" leaving Andy in the
sidecar.

Watched "A Deal is a Deal" (Miracle Salve) on TV Land last night. Toward
the beginning, there's a shot of the boy pursuing a lady to make a sale who
flees into a house. I got only a short glimpse, but I wonder if it wasn't
Jenny Boone. I don't think I have this episode on tape or DVD anywhere, so
if you have it, how 'bout giving it a look-see and lemme know.

Punch Supreme - it was Andy's specialty (Just Ask Aunt Bee)
It consisted of Orange Sherbert, Tomato Juice, Root Beer and Molasses.
I think I'd rather have sweet cider that went hard or maybe some
mulberry squeezins.
That was from the "Andy's Rival" episode when Frank Smith of the School
Board came in from Raleigh and spent a lot of time with Helen.
Aunt Bee kept telling Andy not to "hide his light under a bush" and kept
promoting all of Ange's talents.
Good Episode

We'll all have to sit tight while the swirl of ideas get settled into
place. It won't be one specific event, but will happen in various ways
throughout the festival. As soon as I get word from the Surry Arts
Council, I will post it to www.mayberrydays.org and let everyone on the
Digest know.
Thanks for your patience (and enthusiasm!)

Re: Also there are times that when an amount of money is mentioned
prominently but the money is "unseen"
These were sundry and usually hilarious, but I'll mention only one:
Andy's famous dollar and a quarter line. I use that line as often as
events permit.

"Has anyone mentioned Aunt Bee's quote to Otis at "The Rock"? "Get to it!""
I can't believe I forgot that one. It is one of my favorite Aunt Bee lines.
What's even better than the line is that after she said it a few times, she
stopped saying it and instead just snapped her fingers and pointed. Otis still
got the message. Another good line from that episode is "Otis (snaps her
fingers), tell him!"

I believe that, in a recent Matlock, Ben made reference to FLoyd
Lawson's pawn shop being held up. Just one of many TAGS references that
keep showing up.

come out on season dvd's just like we did for Andy. I went there an posted my
vote. You can also make comments if you like.

Watching Aunt Bee bring the boys some tuna fish sandwiches (with little
sweet gherkins cut up in them) and a chocolate brownie, it occurred to me
that she never brings them anything to drink. Well, they do have coffee in
the back you say, but we never see them bring any out for lunch.
Mythical or not, Mayberry is in the South, so I wanna know where the tea
(definition: cold, sweet) is. And not only do we not see it around the
Court House, we don't see it in Andy's house either. There is always coffee
around (Opie has milk) but no tea!
In fact, the only cold drinks I recall are the "pops" (try the nectarine
crush) and the lemonade Aunt Bee made for Mr. Wheeler. AND (I just
remembered), Opie's lemonade stand on Crowley's vacant lot after Ben Weaver
bought out Bert's stand. AND (I just remembered), the eggnog in the
Christmas episode.
I mean, all the picnics we see them out, we never see anything to drink.
Wouldn't some of the porch scenes have been even better with them sippin' on
a tall glass of iced tea?

I was watching the episode that TVLand showed on Wednesday night : Barney sees
Andy & Helen kissing in the jewelry store and starts rumor #14 that they are
getting married.
The scene in Andy's house when everyone gathers for the surprise party is the
only one I can remember where Floyd and Gomer appear together. Can anyone
think of another one?
