I think the writer meant sparks in the sense of romance. Not the where
there's smoke there's fire type of sparks that you were pointing out
with Helen.

I like Jeff Pruit, he reminds me of my husband, big
and strong on the outside and a softie on the inside.

The one lady on TAGS that I always had a crush on was Elinore 'Ellie' Walker
played by Elinore Donahue, she was smart intelligent and compasionate admirable
qualities in a woman and the Best Pharmacist Mayberry ever had.

Brad, those are not the kind of sparks we are talking about, not
fighting sparks but attraction sparks. You know, like fireworks or
bells ringing. Sparking sparks. Now there's an old time word, sparking.

Re: Of all characters who have appeared on TAGS would you be attracted
to for possible romance and why?
Cousin Gloria and Barbara Eden! Why? Because they twang my buds! And
because nature was good to them - real good!
Anybody seen Barbara Eden lately? She's seventy-one and still hot!

I had to go over to the dime store to buy a box of salt
(they sell the best tasting salt in the world) and me and
Laura Lee Hobbs got to talking about all the girls Andy knew and almost loved
before he met and fell in-love with Helen. Just how he could have resisted
Ellen is a mystery we will never solve. That girl was gooooood looking. Now I
say she was a little too immature for Andy, but Laura Lee Hobbs says that for
those curves a man can over-look a little immaturity.
Of course, the point is moot since they never really even dated. Ellen just
sort of pecked him once on the cheek after she thought he had asked her to
marry him. (And would
it have been so terrible if he had married Ellen? Me and Laura Lee Hobbs don't
think so. How about you?)
She did seem awfully SWEET--and we all know sometimes Andy needed sweet women
in his life--anyway Andy could get along with almost anyone.
Well, I've got chicken to salt for tomorrow. Hope the Preacher talks about sin.
You just can't talk enough about sin.

Where did you find this out, Margaret
I'd heard we were sending down 20 firefighters from Wheatland WY.
Get aload of the massive airlift going on today. 100 people every 5 minutes
being airlifted out from the superdome. We got Blackhawks, UH 1 Hueys,
Chinooks, and CH 53 Sea Stallions, all helicopters all of them in on this.
If Mayberry had all this equipment, you bet, we'd be usin it to help these
people out.
It makes me feel good.
Makes me proud of our UNITED STATES MILITARY. HOOAH HOOAH

Another nostalgic home delivery that is lost to the ages is the 'ice man'.
Watching the iceman chip off the size block needed for each individual ice box
was a treat because any small ice chips were immediately scarfed up by the kids
patiently watching and it was contest to see whose chip lasted the longest.
Mayberry had progressed to refrigerators but I'm sure some of the older
residents remember the 'ice man'. Cool on Wisconsin.

Someone has probably posted this already, but did you see the "Goob" on an
episode of The Twilight Zone the other day? He ws playing an evil deputy
waiting for a hanging. I had never seen the one before. It was not the Goober
we all love.
