does anybody remember "the razor strap?" i never got a " whuppin" with it but
i knew where daddy always hung it. i guess just knowing that kept me in line. i
have eleven brothers and sisters and i have heard them speak of it more than
once. but daddy was a most gentle person and a great father. he and our mother
(yes we all had the same mother and father) always put God first and taught us
to do the same. we are a very close family because of being brought up in a
Christian home. he spoiled us but yet he didn't spare the rod. texas beckaroo.

Greetings Fellow Partners In Crime,
All this talk about being on the business end of a switch brought back
memories to me as well. There were 7 of us kids and we were by no stretch of
the imagination, "Angels."
I used to have one other big problem when I'd "get on the bad side" of my
Mom and needed directions in how to get turned around to her good side. When
our
Mom was riled up enough to give one or more of us a "whipin," she had a
habit of rolling the tip of her tongue under and sort of biting down on it
while
she was "laying it on you" The look this gave her face would "crack me up"
and I'd start giggling. She always thought I was laughing at her and I'd get
more licks than was her original plan. She'd sometimes say, "Don't you laugh
at me, I might just whip you till you stop laughing!"
She really did look funny when she made that face.Mom was always fair though
and we all lived to tell the story! LOL
One other thing that comes to mind... Most of the TAGS folk have implied
discipline laced with love. That's the key! Maybe that's why TAGS folk are all
so nice, they were all disciplined and led in the right direction... We "went
out and acted like somebody" Huh?
You all have a "Mayberry Day"
