I too was a bit disappointed the first time I met Goober and he emphasized his
book. But I since learned that most of the stars of Mayberry get very little,
if anything, in the way of residuals. I'm sure that is very aggravating. So I
imagine they feel they must capitalize all they can on their biggest claim to
fame, in order to promote their careers.

Lydia, are you ok, my friend? You sound a little out of sorts and
confused there. You didn't get into the cooking sherry or run into
Colonel Harvey's demonstatin or anything, didja?
Just sayin'

What do you think about Thelma Lou either taking care of the kids in the
nursery/children's church or maybe she was working in the church office??

Hey to Bob in Middletown!! : o )
Gotta run, I promised Edgar Coleman I would help him glue covers back on some
hymn books this afternoon. Thelma Lou was busy, so I'm helping him out.

I apologize if my signature line disagreed with you. I have a Christian
writing ministry (am also learning from those who use TAGS info for Sunday
School teaching), and my signature line is on nearly all my emails...I try to
exclude it at times, but sometimes --- since I have webmail -- it doesn't get
excluded.

the way Russel Hyatt told me, he cut Andy's hair once and was the last
in town to do so right before
Andy left. He made no claim to be his regular long term barber. Russle
had just started work with original shop owner I believe,so age wise it
was just a joke likely he wouldn't have much reason to
remember everyone who cuts his hair once decades ago.

Re: Don't know the setting of Green Acres but it HAS to be in the
general area of Mayberry.
Green Acres was in Hooterville, which is in the Ozarks of Missouri.

Sit back and relax, peel an apple, and put your bullet up, Barney.

Hi Mayberry-ians,
I watched "North By Northwest" tonight. Did anyone else? And if you did, did
you catch two people from TAGS?
I'm guessing that they were fed up with the big city and it's crime rate, and
moved to our dear little town of Mayberry...

Speaking of using Howard Morris' voice for the radio announcer, I noticed
that on "Aunt Bee, the Juror", Gavin McLeod, the actor who played Andy in
"Sheriff Without A Gun", was the voice on the crime show that Andy and Aunt Bee
were
watching after her first day on the jury.
And we all know that Howard Morris was once Leonard Blush!
I bet there were other voices used on the show, too.
"Leonard Blush, Leonard Blush! Is that all you can think about, Leonard
Blush?"

I think Thelma Lou did attend the same church - after all, she was in the
choir, right? I agree with the idea that she was in the nursery helping with
the
kids. Besides, how many churches could a small town like Mayberry support?
I can just see it now - since Thelma Lou was in the nursery and would miss
the sermon, then old Barn' would have to go over to her house for lunch and
tell her what the sermon was all about - with his unique translation, of
course.
Then, he would head over to Andy's for Sunday dinner. Then, back to Mrs.
Mendelbright's to sit on the porch and drink cider. What a life!

" Yep! That's the plan - stop at the fillin' station and get a bottle of
pop, go home and take a nap and then over to Thelma Lou's and watch a little
tv.
