Barney's line about needing bigger wires so his in-cell intercom would work
better has served me well over the past years. I've been in software and
computer systems for the past 20 years with most of it involved with
installations and support. Nowadays, my folks are much more technical than
I am about our systems, so when there is a particularly difficult technical
problem, I use Barney's line just so I won't appear to be useless.

There was an episode where Andy was sitting on Opie's bed talking to him. The
camera left Andy, and went to Opie. When it came back on Andy a few seconds
later, Andy's hair was parted on the other side of his head. Anybody else
notice that? Ben

I'll be filling in at the Dime Store for Laura Lee Hobbs
while she recovers from swollen glands. She has only herself to blame. She sat
out in the wind and rain on Hwy 6 looking for a gold truck after she heard a
rumor one may be heading our way. I don't mind keeping the store; I
have my aged but lovely cat Miss Pearl to keep me company.
Me and Laura Lee have been here, I guess, about a year. We
taught ourselves the computer. Know nothing about it. But we try. Do really
enjoy the Digest. Just when you think you have heard it all, someone will come
up with something
so creative it will make our day.
Lydia, I don't like sitting in the sun; I don't mind sitting in a light rain or
a frisky breeze; but I can't stand sitting in the sun.

Hi! I've been with the Digest for 6 and a half months so that makes me
pretty much a junior member. I got my official verification of entrance back
on April 14th, 05.
Until I started receiving and reading the Digest, I had no idea just how
popular TAGS was with everybody from coast to coast (and beyond!).
One thing for sure, it opened my eyes and made me aware of all the "TAGS
references" that I see in today's life. For instance: I was watching the
computer animated movie "Robots", on DVD, with my daughter the other day. In
the opening scenes as the camera pans on down the main street of Rivet Town,
you see a barber shop. On the window is the lettering "Flathead Floyd's"
And in the window you see the barber giving a flattop to the customer. A
robotic Floyd!! Now I've seen everything!
The wonderful world of TAGS never ceases to amaze me! Mayberry Forever!

Let's talk about me! I want to talk about me!
I have decided that I am not a pessimist, nor am I an optimist. I am not a
realist or an idealist. Due to a sometimes fragile emotional state, I am an
escapist. And The Andy Griffith Show provides me with the best form of
escapism. I want to live in Mayberry. I want to be friends, or even a cousin
to Andy and Barney. I won't be a fun girl. I won't try to be a girlfriend. I
just want to sit on the porch and listen to the guitar. I want to watch Andy
peel an apple in one continuous peel. I want to help turn the crank for the
homemade strawberry ice cream. I want to have tea with Helen and Thelma Lou
and talk girl talk (not chit chat, Lydia).
Please don't think that I am a psychotic trying to live in a fantasy world. I
just want to visit there. Often. That being said, does anyone know if Seasons
Two and Three are still available? I have 2, 3 and 4 on my wish list and my
family is on high alert but I understand that Season 4 won't be released until
mid-November. I haven't spotted them in any of the retail outlets I have been
to lately so my skinny little neck veins are starting to pop.
Thanks for being so neighborly.
Carol

I'm curious about something.
The name Gomer appears in the Bible, and undoubtedly someone somewhere has that
name. But has anyone ever met
someone who has the name Goober? Not as a nickname, but as
his real, Christian name?
Me and Laura Lee Hobbs would sure like to know about it if
you do.

I have another question (I'm just full of questions today,
aren't I?).
While they were filming Gomer joining the Marines, did they already know he was
leaving TAGS for his own series and this episode served as the pilot?
Or was it just a regular episode, and he was supposed to stay on at TAGS, but
then everyone liked it so much it gave the producers the idea to start a series
staring Gomer as a Marine?
Lydia...I have an inquiring mind
