COMMENTS:
Hi,

My name is Melanie and I am married with two teenagers. I have been a
fan of the Andy Griffith Show every since I can remember. In fact,
every night on my way to sleep you will find one of my many CD's or VHS
tapes of the show playing. Recently for our 18 wedding anniversay my
husband took me to Mount Airy North Carolina, Andy's birth place. We
even got to eat the famous "Pork Chop" sandwich at the Snappy Lunch.
Even though we had to wait in line an hour this was a real dream come
true. So, I am finally happy to be a part of a group of people who love
Andy and the old shows as much as I do. I look forward to checking in
at the website to find out all the lastest happenings. God Bless and I
hope to hear from you soon.

I am 43 yrs. old and love watching Andy Griffith. Have always wanted to
know who Mr. Schwamp was played by, he never spoke a word, but was funny
in his own way, someone should know who this person was.. Thanks, RAndy

I have been a hardcore Andy Griffith fan all of my life. I truly believe
that it is the greatest show ever made. It remains timeless because they
didn't have to use politics, sex or dated events to be funny. When I
watch an Andy Griffith rerun (Black & White ONLY of course) it relaxes me.

I'm 44 years old. I grew up in a small town in rural NC and have never
moved away. I was married for a little over 23 years and have been
widowed for almost 3 years. We have 2 wonderful daughters, ages 23 and
17. I love the simple things in life. I believe that the best things
in life are free. I like to keep things simple and pleasant. I'm a
firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and I know that I could not make
it through one single second of one single day without having Him to
lean on. I also believe since we only pass this way once, we should do
all that we can to help and encourage others and extend Christian love
and friendship every time we get the opportunity. I believe that we
should be a servant to others whenever possible. I like the Mayberry
way of life...knowing your neighbors, finding humor in the everyday
things in life and appreciating all the little things that I have so
often taken for granted.

I live with my husband and 25 cats, 9 dogs, 4 birds, 2 llamas, 2 goats
and 6 horses. All (except for my husband!) are rescued animals and are
neutered or spayed. I assure you that the goats have never eaten
dynamite, but the dogs would follow a wagon of frozen, tough beef anywhere.

I have to "visit" Mayberry at least once a day or my feet swell up.
(Anyone know what causes that?)

Thanks.

I would very much enjoy receiving the daily digest.

I am a 48 year old Andy fan, with a wife and daughter who are nuts about
all things Andy. We've watched all the shows 1.5 zillion times. We
collect signed photos of the cast (Anybody got a Floyd or Aunt Bea they
wanna sell?) Every year when we go to the outer banks, we always drive
by Andy's house and wave, even though nobody waves back.

Single 36 year old Christian woman, down to earth. Enjoys the simple
things in life. I enjoy the Andy Griffith Show re-runs because their
way of life is slower paced and they have great morals and values than
the materialistic cell phone crazed world of today.

I wish we could somehow change today's world to be more like Mayberry.
But we can't change the world, we can only change ourselves. If
everyone did this little part in our own area of the world then it would
be a start to changing the world.

I was raised in the country and saw hundreds of baby animals born calves,
lambs, piglets, puppies, kittens, goats so maybe Andy was referring to
animals. It wasn't until my daughters were born that I got to see a person
born, it was amazing, more fun for me than my wife.

As for police cars the Ohio state patrol uses all fords, I think ford is the
only manufacturer that makes a car to specifically used as a police car.

Did you notice that that squad car Andy was driving had no windshield in it?
I don't think Danny's car had one, either.

Of course that truck didn't come from an Olds dealer, hot rod guru George
Barris
found it behind an old feed store. Likewise, I'm sure that same southern
California Ford dealer didn't provide the Ford truck used by the Darling family.

Someone mentioned Pontiacs being on "My Three Sons," come to think of it they
were also all over the place on "I Dream of Jeannie." But those shows both
used Pontiacs in the **late** '60s, I was talking about the early '60s. At
that earlier point "My Three Sons" used Chevys because that was their sponsor.

I watched "Opie and the Bully" last night.
I got to thinking about how hard it must have been for Andy to teach Opie
this lesson, knowing that Opie could be hurt physically. Toward the end of the
show, where Opie gives Andy some clean clothes to keep at the courthouse (so he
can change in case he gets his clothes torn and dirty), it looks like Andy is
about to cave in and just handle the situation for the boy.
The thing that makes this episode so sweet is the way Andy and Opie's
relationship is portrayed all the way through. A viewer can feel the love
between the
two as the show progresses. One can also feel Andy struggle with himself as
he guides Opie through this dilemma. Barney's desperate desire to help Opie is
felt, along with his frustration at Andy for not allowing him to do so.
I am so thankful for the funny parts in this episode. Otherwise, I don't know
if I could sit through it.
"...and there was Hodie, tough-guy Hodie...", "She sure does kick up a fuss,
don't she?"
