If you wrote this into a play, nobody would believe it. I listen to an
internet radio station whilst at my desk (Acoustic Cafe at
www.boomerradio.com) which displays a song's and artist's names to tell
what's playing. Just now, right after reading the latest digest, I learned
that "A Salty Dog" is a 1969 song by Procol Harum.

Lyrics can be found at:

http://www.tonsoflyrics.com/letter_p/artist_procol-harum/a-salty-dog_lyrics.html

My comments after hearing the song and reading the lyrics is: "Curious."

For what it's worth.

(I think the whole song was played on a jug.)

Wasn't "Convicts at Large" the last show that Howard McNear was in before his
stroke? Maybe he was recovering when they did the "A Date for Gomer" episode
and used a stand in. I never noticed it anyway. I must be an amateur
trained noticer. I do know in "The Case of The Punch in The Nose" that the
barber
standing outside when Barney drives up is not Floyd and doesn't even resemble
him.
Anybody have a favorite Floyd show?

This may've been asked previously, but I don't remember it if it was, so...
Are the Mayberry RFD episodes being put on dvd? Thanks - Lisa

We know for sure that Mayberry didn't put out a paper on Tuesday, because
Barney found the ad from Mr. Parnell, inquiring about his lost $50.00, in
Wednesday's paper. Barney was upset because he didn't find the ad yesterday,
and Andy
said he didn't find it because there WAS no paper yesterday. Then Barney said
the town should have a daily paper so things like this wouldn't happen!
I'm only acting like a trained noticer, but really, I'm not. I just LOVE this
episode!!

Actress Mary Jackson died at age 95 on December 10. She is probably best
remembered as Miss Emily on THE WALTONS.

Mary appeared in two episodes of TAGS... as Mrs. Rigsby in "Opie's Fortune"
and Miss Vogel in "The Senior Play."

Dear Friends,

I was cleaning out some of my clutter the other day when I ran across an extra
copy of "The Mayberry Confidential" dated September 24, 2004. That was the
week of Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC. You probably also recall that was the
year that Mr. Griffith attended and unveiled the statue.

"The Mayberry Confidential" is the official news of the Surry Arts Council.
This particular edition has on the cover photos of (1) Andy with his wife,
looking at the statue, (2) an old photo of Andy and Charlene, (3) two old
photos of Andy with The Darlings, and (4) an old photo of Andy and The Country
Boys. Inside the paper is a schedule of events for that weekend, some
stories of interest about the doings of the Surry Arts Council, and some ads
for local Mt. Airy businesses.

Anyhoo, here's the deal: I don't need two copies of it and would like to give
this copy away to one of you. I will mail it to the first person who replies
directly to me via my e-mail, which is [EMAIL PROTECTED] In other words, don't
reply to this digest.

So, if you missed out on getting a copy of this paper that year, then here's
your chance.

Here's hoping y'all have a Merry Christmas!

Kindest regards,

Mark Selby,
Kingsport, TN
