HI friends,

I was subbing in the public school "early childhood program"
last week. We were having play time. I was with a majority of
the students and we were playing house in one of those plastic houses
with the larger "people" I was the mom. I had made supper
which was cereal. I asked the dad to put the dishes in the dishwasher
because I was going to go watch tv in the living room.

I sat my doll on the couch and said"hum what will I watch"
Our family plastic dog said... Watch Arthur ( PBS show)
I said No I think I'll watch Andy griffith.

Eventually all of the plastic people were in the living room watching this
show.
The kids got along GREAT! WE even had a plastic monkey come in to be
our other PET. His name was George Washington monkey.

WE all got along SO well and were playing SO nicely!!
The teachers just sat in amaze meant

I said to the monkey a few times...Oh do we have to send the
monkey to nice monkey school or take him back to the store.

Funny even the "monkey" seemed to Enjoy Andy griffith.

It was SO cute..wish ya all could've been there...

Mayberry's Midwest Mocha Momma,
Erin

I have a confession, since I'm from TX I usually put pecans in my fudge. I
hope that doesn't hurt my Thelma Lou status.

Hi All: I must have deleted the link to the quiz before reading it. Will
someone please post it again as I want to take it? Also, I have two sets of the
Series 1 Pacific Trading Cards dated 1990 for sale. They are numbered from card
1 to card 110. Someone asked about the numbers. There are 3 sets and set one is
the hardest to find from what I understand. They would make a great Christmas
gift for yourself or any Andy Fan. One set in the box. Please email [EMAIL

That Quiz was incredible. I turned out to be a Barney. And the ironic
thing is when I retired from teaching, all the other teachers dressed up as
Barney Fife on my last day. My license plate on my car is B FIFE, and the
workers at the hospital where I now volunteer call me Barney. I wear a
Barney Fife watch and I have his picture on a clock in our house and also
numerous other Barney Fife pictures.

While sipping coffee out of my "Nip It" coffee mug, I was thinking about TAGS
and how we all love to watch it over and over and over. But you know, a show
like that would never last on CBS, NBC, or ABC in today's world. I don't
even watch any network TV shows anymore. My husband says all I watch is TAGS
and the weather report. Well, anyway this got me thinking about how TAGS would
be if it was on network TV today. I know for sure that Opie would have to be
a smart mouth kid who talked back to his Dad. He'd have to have some
disrespectful friends, too. Aunt Bee would probably be the wacky aunt who
messed
everything up around the house and had a different man every other day. The
jail
would be full all the time. Otis would have a drug problem. Helen might work
at the juvenile detention center. Barney would be a slob and a slacker and he
and Thelma Lou would be living together. Andy would be divorced instead of a
widower. Mayberry would have a Walmart and a mall out on the strip. Wally's
would be self-serve and Goober wouldn't know how to fix a car. Oh, now I know
why I don't watch any network TV shows anymore!

My husband and I retook the quiz. This time I turned out to be Helen Crump. He
turned out to be Barney.

Helen is definitely the best fit for me for several reasons. First, teaching
is now my chosen profession (I recently completed my training and am
substituting until I get a permanent teaching position.). Second, I would love
to be able to write a children's book ( I doubt I have the talent, though).
Third, I would have loved to have ended up married to Andy Taylor. Fourth, I
do not cook. (I can cook, but I hate it, so my husband does the cooking. He
likes to cook, so it works out. If he didn't cook, he would have to settle for
frozen dinners. No one would ever catch me making a leg of lamb, not even for
Andy Taylor himself). Fifth, I would have chosen Helen Crump Taylor as my TAGS
character on the digest, but when I first joined, there was already someone
using that character, so I chose Mary Grace Gossage instead. Actually, I think
I am a mixture of both of them.

I don't know if I would say that Barney is the best fit for my husband. I
think he is more a mix of Opie and Malcolm Merriweather.

Well, I guess one out of two ain't bad.

Mary Grace Gossage
