Let's hear it for all the Opie's out there! If I had to guess (oh go on,
guess!) which character I most closely matched prior to taking the quiz then
I would have chosen Opie. In addition to the common personality traits I'm
also covered in freckles! Thanks for the quiz, Joshua.

My family LOVES The Andy Griffith Show!
My wife and I were born and grew up in North Carolina during the 50's
and 60's. I think that is why Mayberry (and the characters who live
there) are so real to us. When we watch TAGS, we are magically
transported back to the times, places and people we knew there.
Our family enjoys using TAGS quotes that apply to various situations
that come up in our lives. One of our favorites is Barney's reply to
Aunt Bea in the Pickle Story, "Who don't?!"
My favorite TAGS character is Barney Fife, my hero. Don Knotts
demonstrated that he truly is a genius, with the incredible versatility
that he brings to the role of Barney Fife.
My all-time favorite TAGS scene is in the episode "Cow Thief", when
Barney reminds Andy of another one of Andy's "hairbrained ideas" --- to
hire Barney as his deputy. If you can watch Barney deliver that dramatic
speech without getting misty eyes; well, you're a better man than I.
I am so grateful to everyone who helps to keep the best program on
television alive.

Grew up in Buffalo NY where I worked in the late 40s with announcer
Colin Male at WEBR. He lived in our home for a while before he got
married. When he left WICU Erie for Ohio, he influenced me to get into
TV there at WFMY. Next stop was Greensboro NC just as Andy Griffith was
getting started. I worked there from 1950-1959. One of our programs was
a musical show featuring pianist Bill Jeffries and vocalist Ted Knight!

I started watching TAGS when it first came on. As a kid, I though I had
seen them all. Thank goodness for reruns, I try to watch everynight on
TV Land, and believe it or not I am still seeing some that I never saw
before. I am married now for 32 years with two grown sons and now a
wonderful Daughter (in-law). I love talking to others about the show. In
the last two years the highlight for me has been to attend the show in
Pigeon Forge, TN and for my birthday of that same year, my wife
surprised me with a weekend stay in Mr Airey, NC - I thought we were
going to visit her uncle in Winchester, VA and as wee approached the Mt
Airey exit, she suggested that we go there and get some lunch -- it
turned out to be a weeken and we stayed at the Mayberry Motel. A great
birthday present! This year I am getting the new DVD's of the first season!

I retook the quiz also and even though I make fudge with pecans, I'm still a
