Hey folks,

I just got back from Asheville, NC where I met the first "Mary Simpson" from
TAGS, Julie Adams. What a warm and gracious lady!! She has fond memories of
Mayberry. She even expressed an interest in attending a Mayberry reunion show
in the future. That was GREAT!!

But, the highlight of the trip was, I swung by Abingdon, VA where a new
found friend has opened up a TV memorabilia store. When I walked in he was
screening the new TAGS DVD Season 1 set. AWESOME!!! The quality is FANTASTIC. I

watched the first 2 episodes and the seemed complete with the epilogs.

Save you pennies and order this set from Weaver's. I promise you won't be
disappointed.

Shazaam!!!

Gary

I was an Andy. I didn't come as a surprise though.

Hey Don C. I was sure proud to hear that your new bride is now a fan of TAGS
after having watched it with you for awhile. Just goes to show you have good
taste when it comes to picking a bride!!! Maybe you could give Ernest T. some
tips, seeing as how he didn't have much luck with Romeena and Charlene. :) :)

Since Saving Private Ryan was not shown here in Cincinnati, I had a wonderful
Mayberry Moment I wanted to share with you all. I turned past the channel that
was supposed to be playing Saving Private Ryan and heard that they were going
to be running a "Thanksgiving Around America" show from the Food Network.
Since I don't have cable I decided to watch the show, and wouldn't you know
that one of the places they visited was the area of Cincinnati (Blue Ash) that
I grew up in. When it got to that part of the show they interviewed a
gentleman who talked about the fact that when he grew up there it was like
Mayberry. He said that the area had a "Mayberrian" atmosphere, and he even
mentioned that it was like Andy was the local sheriff. I got so excited to
hear my home town and Mayberry mentioned together. It was Bigggggg ...

"Too late lieutenant, I already 10 - 4'd ya."

I never said how I came out...I took it only once, after the correction, and
apparently I'm Andy.

BTW "writer" could also apply to Opie, since he ran a small newspaper, and
Howard Sprague, since he wrote a column. Apparently Floyd was pretty creative
himself when he wrote those letters to that woman.
