There are quite a few, in fact. The first one that comes to mind is "A Most
Unusual Camera," which I'm told Rod Serling wrote especially for "Fun Girl"
Jean Carson.

Thanks everyone who provided me with DVD info-prices, quality, problems. I
will take all into consideration when I decide to buy one.
Now, the other nite as I was flipping thru channels, I stopped when I saw
Howard "Floyd" McNear. He was in an Elvis movie. I never did find out the
name
of the movie and I didn't watch much of it. Anyone know what this movie is?
Hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving,

I finally heard "Tick a lock" and "Thats a Time" somewhere else besides
Mayberry.
I bought 3 cd's recently of old Lum and Abner shows from 1933 thru 1948.
I have been listening to them and have heard both Lum and Abner say "Thats a
time"
quite a bit. But I was listening the other day and for the first time I heard
one of them say
Tick a Lock. That was the first time I have ever heard that saying anywhere but
on TAGS.
The episode was from around 1943.

Hey, I just LOVE it when all you trained noticers out there list all
the little things you find in the episodes! For those of us who are
"inept" in this area .... it's a real treat, and wow it makes the
episodes that much more exciting to watch for the 237th time! Thank
you, thank you!

Andy apologizing to Floyd. Floyd tells about all that is required to be a
barber such as the license. Thanks. Dave Lenington
That's in "Goober's Replacement." Flora fills in for Goob at the gas
station while he is on vacation, and when it looks like she might get the
job permanently, Goober starts looking around town for another job. Later,
Floyd tells Andy that Goober had come into the barber shop looking for work.

Exactiloso! You may also have noticed the words "Published Daily" directly
beneath the masthead. This contradicts information given later in "Opie's
Fortune," when we learn that Mayberry does not have a daily paper. We
aren't told how often it comes out, but we know for sure it comes out on
Wednesday. There are also several episodes where folks read the Sunday
paper, but perhaps that's a paper from somewhere's else (maybe Mt. Pilot or
Raleigh).
Speaking of papers, Andy is reading one in the barber shop in "Stranger in
Town." Andy reads aloud that the weather is hurting the local crops, and
that Old Man Joe MacKnight has just celebrated his 103rd birthday. Such
stories are typical of what a small-town newspaper might cover, but look
closely at the paper Andy's holding and you'll see that it's The New York
Times!

I can't wait to get my greasy paws on the new DVD, but I have to wait for
Christmas and the presumed generosity of my family members.
In the meantime, I watched Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 film "the Conversation"
and saw Elizabeth MacRae featured as a somewhat sleazy temptress. Not keeping
her clothes on. Howard and Gomer would have been shocked! Such goin's on,
such goin's on!
