TAGS fans & readers,

My novel "Murder in Mayberry" is still being
serialized at http://www.dailyread.com. And, you can
see any and all of the chapters you've missed (or what
to read again) by clicking the appropriate link under
the picture at the top of the opening page.

Well, we've started watching the new TAGS Season One DVD's and as many have
already indicated they are outstanding. We've got a larger screen, and with
progressive scan DVD the picture quality makes viewing almost a new experience.
These transfers are as good as we are likely to get. One thing everyone
should expect: If these box sets are a hit, the TAGS "special edition"
collection will surely be here eventually. We're also big fans of the
Twilight Zone, and that series is now in its THIRD all--seasons edition.
They've had the "gold" edition, the "collections," edition, and now on December
28, the "definitive" edition. Along those lines, I wonder if any TAGS alums
appeared on the T-Zone in significant roles? I don't own the series, but maybe
I'll spring for it now that the "definitivie edition" is out. Hope everyone
had a good holiday! Mark from Missouri

Here are a couple of tough trivia questions:

1. Who was the barber in Mayberry before Floyd? (no, the answer is not
"that other Floyd" - there was someone even earlier than he)

2. What is the cover price of the Mayberry Gazette?
--------------------

I didn't catch the first answer. However, I did notice on "Mayberry goes
Hollywood" that on Floyd's window it says, "Colby's'. Did Floyd's last name
used to be Colby? If that is true I didn't know that.

I was able to see the price of the Gazette when I paused and zoomed in. 7
cents!!!

However, when I looked at the Gazette that I bought from Gary at Burt Miller's
Emporium it says, "Seven cents...within 200 miles."

Good stuff.

I am REALLY enjoying watching TAGS in order. As these DVDs come out, I sure a
lot of us will be better at the trivia.

I read on the bulletin board a few months ago that someone had a Mayberry
Squad Car for sale. If it is still for sale could you please email me and let
me
know. I would appreciate it. Also could anyone tell me about Goober's truck.
I know it was blue and a ford, but I don't know the year or any specifics. I
am still waiting for my DVD set. My birthday is next week and I dropped a few
hints and I think it worked. I did get to watch a couple episodes on my
friends set, it was great. Beautiful day here in Ohio, but not as nice as
Mayberry.

I would appreciate your providing the name of the episode that includes Andy
apologizing to Floyd. Floyd tells about all that is required to be a barber
such as the license.
     Thanks.

Later on in the series (specifically in the "Opie the Birdman episode") Opie
has a Cowboy lamp.
It has a cowboy on a horse for the base and the shade has boots and stuff on
it.
I also noticed those big double closet doors are still there in this episode.
Not sure why I've never noticed them till now.

Happy Holidays!!

I just added a few new items to the Mayberry Emporium website:

There is a 2 disc CD set with 600 hi-res photos I took during Mayberry Days
this year. Most are from the Dedication Ceremony on Friday morning. There are
also photos from the Dillards Concert in Bristol, VA that same weekend.

Also a new CD set of 100 Black and White photos of TAGS taken directly from
the original 35mm film. The quality is surprisingly good. Great to print out
at home or to add to your Mayberry website.

Lastly, there is a great selection of Mayberry related Diecast cars. These
cars are custom made to order by a gentleman in West Virginia. Some of his work
has sold for over $600 on the Internet. Great prices at the Emporium.

As always please, please, please do your Mayberry shopping at Weaver's
Department Store.

By supporting Weaver's you make a lot of great things happen for us Mayberry
Fans.

Then if you are looking for a little something else, stop by the Mayberry
Emporium.
