Here's a fun and bizarre game in which you pretend to be a dictator or
sit-com character and the computer tries to guess which
dictator/character you are. I played as our favorite sheriff and the
computer guessed correctly who I was (and said I was the 493rd person
to have picked him). Of course, you can also play as Margaret
Thatcher, who is neither a dictator or a sitcom character, but anyway...

If I could play Santa in Mayberry, the gifts I would give would be:

Andy --- a 2 year subscription to National Geographic and a quiet place to read
it.
Barney-- a gift certificate to Mr. Goss' Cleaners to get the old salt n' pepper
cleaned.
Aunt Bee -- a beautiful bed jacket so she can alternate it with the one Andy
bought her.
Opie -- a shiny silver hat and 12 extra hands like Mr. McBeevee.
Floyd -- a biography of Calvin Coolidge so he can share some new quotes with
folks.
Otis -- a set of mosaic tiles so he can make Andy and Aunt Bee a new picture.
Howard -- some "groovy" (go man go!) new records for his bachelor parties.
Clara -- a recording of the song: "Never Let Her Go".
Goober -- a new brown suit for when he goes on dates or to an auto show.
Mr. Schwump -- a date with Daphne so she can tickle his chin while they dance.
Emmett -- a cuckoo clock that works correctly.

If someone asked what I would like from Santa, I would say: Just give me a day
in Mayberry so I can.......sing along with Andy while he plays the guitar on
his front porch, have a bottle of pop with Goober, watch Opie play baseball,
visit with Floyd in front of the barber shop, bake some cakes with Aunt Bee
..........which is probably what all of you would like to do ....

Merry Christmas,
Anita Carpenter :)

I did not post about the store, but thought what a dummy I have been for not
doing so. I guess I need to take some of the old elixer to pep me up. Ha!
Anyhow, I live just minutes from the store which is called: Timeless TV. It is
located on Main Street in Abingdon, VA just past the Court house and the
Washington County, VA Chamber of Commerce. It is located in an old white
clapboard house with (green?) shutters. It is also located across the road
from the Allstate Insurance office.

The store has a wonderful TAGS collection as well as I Love Lucy, Peanuts,
Wizard of Oz, Grateful Dead, Elvis, Honeymooners, etc.

The owners moved to VA from California and they are very helpful and nice. I
hope this helps for your next visit to Abingdon.

I want to say a belated Happy Birthday to George Lindsey.
Happy birthday to Ronnie Schell, he played on two episodes of TAGS.
Ronnie played the director on "The Foster Lady" and Bernie the furrier on
"Emmett's Anniversary".
Mr. Schell also played Slater on "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C".

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

Mr. Jim Clark, thank you for the Christmas card, it will become one of my
prized possessions.
I started crying when I opened the envelope.

Merry Christmas,

Margaret

Ok, this is kind of silly, but I was in the shower looking at some
shaving cream I bought the other day and the scent was called "Apple
Berry Crush". I thought that sounded like one of those new soda pop
flavors down at Wally's. Floy'd would like that one.

Have a great Christmas everyone. I think that gift list sounds like fun,
but I am sick so I don't feel like thinking today. I need Aunt Bee to
take care of me! She'd bring me a book and change my pillow case for me.
I could use a chicken sandwich about now. (Isn't that what she made for
Andy?) Well, if she were here she'd tell me I need to get off this
computer and go rest.

Amy
