1. I was watching the episode where opie got the job at the drug store(where
he broke the bottle of perfume, well thought it was perfume) and I was
wondering.....were there 2 drug stores in Mayberry? It looks much different
than the one that was owned by Fred(I believe that was his name)
2. Another episode I was watching was one in 1960 where Ben tried to get
arrested to join the Christmas party. I thought Mayberry was a "dry" town (no
liquor), but Ben mentioned he didnt like the sorts of moonshiners making their
own when he had spirits for sale at his store and it was cutting into his
business.
By the way...Santa got me the DVD collection of the 1st year of
Mayberry.....cant wait to watch them all.
Happy New Year all!!

This is my first chance to post since the holidays so I wanted to say a
couple of things.
First, great card from the Newsomes, I really loved it!
Second...my daughter had warned me not to buy the TAGS first season, and I
found out why: because she bought it for me for Christmas. It's my favorite
gift of the holidays that I received (my favorite, bar none, was the guitar I
bought for my daughter) and so far I've only had time to watch one of the
discs.
I love it. I have never seen the season 1 picture quality look so good. For
some reason, even in the TV Land reruns, the picture looks so old it looks
like it could've been shot in the 1930s like a Three Stooges or Our Gang short.
But it doesn't look that way on the DVD, in fact it looks like it could've
been shot last week (albeit in black and white).
One thing I noticed: the show was shot at Desilu, and Lucille Ball's picture
appears on a TV Guide cover at Walker's drugstore, in the "Those Gossipin'
Men" episode. In the same show, Elvis pops up on another magazine cover.

them for me from amazon.
they are really clear just like you all have said. can't wait for the other
seasons.
I read where someone bought a dvd of goobers replacement but got the contest
instead, sounds likely. But i would love to have either one, where did you buy
it at.
