For a number of years, I worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Los
Angeles. From 1980 to 1989, I worked at the Sears store located on
West Pico Boulevard which was just down the street from Beverly Hills.
In the course of 9 years, I saw many show business stars, ranging from
Sammy Davis Jr., Mohammad Ali, Gladys Knight, Eva Gabor, John Byner,
Ted Lange (his father was a home improvement salesperson in the store),
Mr. Blackwell, and the list goes on and on. But the thrill was on a
Saturday morning ( we had Saturday mornng specials to bring the public
in), coming down the esclator was Paula Prentiss and Richard Benjamin,
escorting between them our own Bert Wheeler (Stanley Holloway). At this
time in his life he appeared to be quite fragile but still maintained
the great smile. Since he was the voice of Winnie the Pooh, it was a
great thrill which I shall always remember. As I remember, they
purchased an item from the hardware department, came back up the
escalator and exited the store. No disruption of business and went
unnoticed by anyone in the store, but for me a great thrill.
Happy Holidays from a long time TAGS fan

I have alot of tapes with TAGS on them, but nowhere have a seen Mayberry
so clearly as
on the DVD's I got my wife for Christmas. Paramount truly did us TAGS
fans a service
by putting season 1 on DVD. Now, if they just get busy & put the other
seasons out,
our collection will be complete. I can't wait!!!!!.....Dave, " ADollar
and a Quarter " Club,
New Philadelphia, Ohio.
I couldn't agree with you more, Dave. Now all we gotta do is encourage every
TAGS fan and everyone we can think of to buy the set, and that will tell
Paramount there really IS a demand that warrants making the other seasons. I
personally would LOVE to have all 8 seasons on DVD. So, every member
here......let's get out and encourage everyone to buy, buy, buy the DVD TAGS
set!!!!!!!
