I was looking at a road atlas last night. I saw...in North Carolina, a
county named "Stokes." Am I imagining things or did I hear Barney
mention Stokes County in a TAGS episode?

I shopped all through Weaver's first, but couldn't find any of Aunt Bee's
dishes.
I even tried Bert Miller's Mayberry Emporium.

I was talking about poor reception to my mother. I said the reason we som=
etimes got poor reception from the radio, etc. is because we're TUCKLED i=
n somewhat of a valley. I meant to say TUCKED. I wondered why I said TUCK=
LED and then I realized it must have been because I've been watching TAGS=
for 40 years. I've been watching BARNEY say words like "compelsion, klep=

Hello to all my fellow Mayberrians,

It has been some time since I have posted here, but I noticed lately
several members requesting
information on the Blue Willow dinner settings. As luck would have it
I happen to get on line to
www.schwans.com. To any of you who don't know, Schwan's is a home food
delivery service.
They have just started a new line of products which is cookware, etc.
etc. Go to the Home &
Gift Store within the website, scroll down almost to the end, and there
you will see a complete set
        of the dinnerware and accessories.

I hope that this will help some of you get what you are looking for.

        Have a good day.

I was thinking: among the criminals who ended up in Mayberry, some were
dangerous and some weren't so dangerous, as to violence. Below is a list of
criminals in Mayberry (all of whom were thieves, as I can recall, or most).

Thomas A. Moody
Angela, the jewel thief (are you the prisoner?)
the two bank robbers pretending to be an FBI agent and a camera man (their
names have escaped me)
the three would-be bank robbers who pretended to be movie producers
Mr. Wheeler
Maude, Naomi and Sally
the Gordon Boys
the two guys who took Howard and Andy captive in the Carson shack
Provo Hansen, who robbed Wally's
Eddie Brook
the two men robbing purses at the carnival whom Deputy Jerry captured
Gentleman Dan
Doc and Tiny and their two gang buddies
Mrs. Hubcaps Lesch
Luke Jensen, cow thief
George and Gladys or aka "Melissa Stevens"
Colonel Harvey

this is all I can think of for now, although there may be more. Have a great
day, all!

Marie,
I guess you can tell you're a Mayberry fan: when on Christmas I made Cashew
Fudge for everyone in my family & I told them to eat it while they watch a
doctor show. I call it my "Barn & Thel Cashew Fudge".....they loved it.

Hey Everybody,

I got to watch the CBS Reunion Show, Back to Mayberry last night. I certainly
enjoyed it very much. Many thanks to Cynthia Mahoney for taping it for me. It
means alot when Andy says that the TAGS years were the best of his life. I
heard Don Knotts say the same thing during an interview I heard him on when he
was in Kansas City doing "On Golden Pond." It was really nice to see how much
Ron Howard enjoyed those years growing up and also Jim Nabors appreciation to
Andy and Don.

Have a Great Mayberry Day!!

Dixon asked:
"Did you happen to notice all the TAGS alumni who appeared on TZ?"

I watched 3 episodes on New Year's Day, and I also noticed many alumni.

1) "A Penny For Your Thoughts" -- This one had the most noticeable (to me,
anyway) alumnus as Gentleman Dan Caldwell (Dan Tobin) played Dick York's boss
at the bank. Interestingly, this episode was filmed the same month as his
Gentleman Dan appearance (February, 1961). This episode also had Hayden Rorke
(A.J. Considine from the "Taylors in Hollywood" episode) as a crooked
businessman.

2) "Nick of Time" -- This one featured William Shatner, but I didn't notice
any TAGS alumni.

3) "Mr. Dingle, The Strong" -- This one starred Burgess Meredith (no TAGS
connection), but also featured Don Rickles (Newton Munroe), James Westerfield
(Uncle Ollie), James Millhollin (Arnold Finch), Phil Arnold (hot dog vendor
from the Gold Truck episode -- not to mention bit parts in 3 of the post-TAGS
Don Knotts feature films), Eddie Ryder (from the "Gomer Pyle, USMC" episode of
TAGS), and Donald Losby (whom the Imdb says was in the "Runaway Kid" episode --
but I can't place him; anybody know which character?).

Obviously, that last episode was loaded with TAGS guest stars. I'd say more
often than not, you'll see an alum when watching TZ -- guess I just caught a
rare one with that William Shatner episode (though there weren't exactly a lot
of characters in that episode).

I called Gaylord to reschedule our reservations (Kernan & Cantrell) and
was told that they are not yet aware of a change in dates. The
reservation clerk I spoke with is going to contact their event manager and
ask them for an update. FYI- they assured me that everyone with package
reservations will be contacted and given the choice of rescheduling or
cancelling their reservations.

David, would a change in dates effect your plans? Hope not! FYI- I
upgraded our seats for the Friday night Opry to front row, center section.
They had us in Row R.

Don

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

It's now official. Gaylord Opryland Resort has changed the date of its
Mayberry Cast Reunion to the weekend of June 18 to 20, 2004. The reunion
was
originally scheduled to be a week later, but the resort didn't have enough
rooms
available that weekend to accommodate everyone expected to attend the
event.
As
of now, all other details about this Mayberry cast reunion remain the same
as
originally announced. Only the date has changed. A lineup of stars
attending
likely will be announced fairly soon.

NOTICE...I'm extending the deadline for entries for the contest below for two
weeks. So..instead of January 9, 2004 you now have until January 23, 2004 to
get your entry or entries in to WBMUTBB HQ. So far we've gotten about 6
entries and I know there are folks out there that can write nice notes. Please
enter to make this fun for all. --Allan

*** SPECIAL MAYBERRY CONTEST ***

A few days ago "Who's Been Messin' Up the Bulletin Board?" (WBMUTBB) Chapter
member Larry Gillum wrote a wonderful note about what Mayberry means to him.

I enjoyed his note very much and thought that I would like to hear other
folks
thoughts about what Mayberry means to them.

So here's what I'd like to see.....write a message about what Mayberry means
to you and send it to the WBMUTBB Digest. I will be collecting the entries
and
posting them to the WBMUTBB.com "Members Only Area" where WBMUTBB members
will be able to go and vote for their favorite submission.

Winners will receive a copy of Andy Griffith's new book "The Christmas Guest"

published by J. Countryman. There will be 5 winners and they will be
determined by those receiving the top 5 number of votes. Only ONE vote per
person
PLEASE. Members will have to submit their WBMUTBB member e-mail address in
order
to have their vote counted.

All entries must be submitted by January 23, 2004 with voting beginning on or

near January 26, 2004. The voting period will be 14 days. Winners will be
notified by e-mail and further information will be obtained at that time from
the
winners. I realize this is a little late for Christmas but it can be an
early Christmas present for 2004.

Submission of your entry grants me permission to use your entry at the
Mayberry.com website (I'll remove any personal information you share before
any such
posting so don't worry about that.) as well as permission to use your entry
in print or electronic form. (Just trying to cover myself.)

Please title all submissions as **What Mayberry Means to Me**.

You CAN have more than one entry but only one prize per winner.

Our thanks to J. Countryman for providing us with copies of "The Christmas
Guest" for this contest.

You can purchase a copy of "The Christmas Guest" at Weaver's Department Store

and help support The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club in the process.

http://www.WeaversDepartmentStore.com/music/music.htm

A similar contest will be held on Mayberry.com for any visitor to the site
but it will be a separate contest from the one run here on WBMUTBB meaning
that
entries there and at WBMUTBB will not be competing with one another.

Get those entries in!!! I'm looking forward to reading them.

Hi
I love reading the emails about TAGS and had to comment on the dishes.
I have always loved the blue willow dishes. We had these when I was
growing up, but my mom got new ones...and gave them away.
Not long ago...I saw a set in my aunts basement, and was admiring
them...and a few weeks later...she gave them to me. They are the old
original ones......she bought them about the time the show started
airing..... I love using them, and I find my mind wondering off to
those scenes that the dishes appeared in. I just keep looking around
for Andy, Opie and Barney at the table, and Aunt Bee walking through
the door with Opie's favorite Apple Pie!

A TAGS fan in Virginia!
Joy
