Subject: TAGS TOASTER

Someone wrote and stated that they saw a push-down toaster being used on =
TAGS. I'm the one who obtained the TAGS toaster that didn't have a push-=
down handle, by auction. The one you see sitting in the background in the=
kitchen is the one that I got. Apparently, it was just there for backgr=
ound scenes and was never used. A while back, I saw the color episode whe=
re EMMETT was running against SAM JONES for City Councilman. He had a pus=
h-down toaster sitting on top of the counter. This is the one that was =
probably seen being used by AUNT BEE. In the same scenes, in which ANDY,=
HOWARD and GOOBER and EMMETT are in his fix-it shop, you can see the non=
-push down toaster sitting on the middle of a shelf in the background. I=
took a picture of the toaster with a digital camera off of the TV while =
viewing the episode, ANDY DISCOVERS AMERICA. It is the best episode so fa=
t that I've seen that shows a good view of the toaster. I then printed th=
e picture out on my computer before I bid on the toaster I won. I wanted =
to be sure it was the same toaster. Next time you get a good view of the =
toaster sitting on the counter, take a good look. It doesn't have a push =
down handle. Obviously, there were two toasters used in the show. However=
, mine was the Star and the other was just a stunt double. GARRY DASHNER=

As to the question of a town called Mayberry in Virginia, We went there
during last Mayberry Days. It is just across the state line and is very small
but
with a great little "Mayberry Store." I didn't drive there and had never been
there before, so have no idea how to get back. Maybe the same Mayberry
friends that got us there will take us back and will let the Digest know more
about
it.

Vivian mentioned that she had missed Andy on the Sunday Morning Show, so she
was looking for a copy of it. I missed it also, so if anyone has a copy I
would sure like one too. Just e-mail me with the details. Thank you!

As I have mentioned before, my husband and daughter are not big fans of TAGS,
which of course makes all of you that much more special to me. I guess I have
been wearing off on my husband Dave because he gave me a Mayberry Moment this
morning. We received one of those big tubs of different types of popcorn for
Christmas this year, and he was enjoying some of it. I was trying to read the
digest and Dave had just put the lid back on the popcorn and he started
thumping it like a drum. I asked him to stop, he looked at me and said:
"Irritatin' isn't it?" That just cracked me up because I love Ernest T. Bass.

....you wanna hear me sing "Eatin' Goober Peas"............

Those 16 episodes are all you're likely to see out on DVD as they are in
the public domain for anyone's use. However, the rest of the episodes
are properly licensed and not available on DVD at this time.

I am a counselor working with substance abusers of all kinds (alcohol, meth,
cocaine, heroin, etc.) in an intensive treatment program. I am creating a
treatment curriculum in which I want to include clips from TV shows. Since
TAGS is my favorite, I want to include a suspect majority of TAGS clips.
Theres only one problem: I would like to have a slip to represent each
topic I am going to cover (or nearly every topic). Can any of you give me a
specific scene in a specific episode that you feel addresses the following
topics? Keep in mind that the clip may be a few seconds to a few minutes.
Please be as specific as possible. For example, episode ### or name and the
line or a description of the scene:

Everyone makes mistakes
Take time to relax
Faulty reasoning can get you into trouble
Right friends/associates are good
Bad friends/associates are bad
Lack of boundaries can get you into trouble
Its good to be assertive rather than passive
Planning ahead is good
When you are wrong, you need to admit that you are wrong
Pride can get in the way of growth
Good time management is a positive thing
Taking care of your body is a good thing
Its good to deal with problems before they get out of hand
Rules are good for you and everyone else as well
Sometimes we tell ourselves that we cant do something when weve never
tried
Dont get in a rut
Doing the right thing is hard, but worth it
Relationships matter more than other things
The easy solution is not as good as the right solution
Its easier to tell the truth than to perpetrate a lie

I know that I could plug my own ideas for good episodes/scenes, but I would
greatly value your thoughts. Feel free to email me directly if you want. I
dont mind.

Oh Debbie wrote a lovely what Mayberry means to me . So is the one
who referenced the abusive childhood. Heck they're all good.
About TAGs on DVD I just read where they are putting MR. ED
on DVD. Now I like ED but dang .! MR. ED! I love Tags. I guess
someday the powers that be will give us out Tags DVD.
Until we meet again Maude.( One of mayberrys crooks
who I know would be forgiven if I every came back to Mayberry.
One reason to love the place...( second chances if you earn them)

Hey Everybody

Mayberry means innocence and a place where kids are safe to walk the street and
everybody watches out for them.
Mayberry is a place where guys can hang out at the barber shop and play
checkers and tell jokes and launch poltical careers.
Mayberry is a place where nobody is in a hurry.
Mayberry is a place where the most admired person is the sheriff.
Mayberry is a community where friends and family are doing their best to
improve their town for future generations.
Mayberry is a town where the truth is more important than personal recognition.
Mayberry is the place where change comes gracefully.
Mayberry is a place where even the town drunk is proud to be a citizen of.
Mayberry is the place where we all dream about growing up in and that is why it
is our "hometown."

The reservation agent for Gaylord called today to confirm that the change of
date is now "official" in Gaylord's system. No surprise that TAGSRWC was out
in front and in the know.

See you in Nashville
