Subject: sighting [Checked by NAI at US SMTP Gateway]

Yesterday I was watching a DVD of The Ed Sullivan Show featuring The
Beatles, from February 9, 1964.
The DVD includes commercials, one of the commercials was for Anacin.
On the Anacin label said fast pain relief for headache, neuralgia and
neuritis.
As you know Clara Edwards in episode 204, "A New Doctor in Town" with
William Christopher, said she had neuralgia in her shoulder.
Clara and Floyd were talking about her neuralgia in front of the barber
shop.
Neuralgia is acute paroxysmal pain radiating along the course of one or
more nerves, from Webster's dictionary.
Someone asked in a posting several months ago what was neuralgia, I guess
this explains it.
Also in the commercials for Anacin Dan Frazer played the man with a
headache.
Mr. Frazer played Mr. Harmon in episode 13, "Mayberry goes Hollywood".

Two references to TAGS on a very unlikely source.

I noticed that too and 'spect that the "t" should have been a "w" so it
should have read "Andy's boyhood home is now a bed and breakfast." I
chuckled because I've made the same mistake. Once I wrote "not" when I
meant "now" in a major board report - changed the meaning totally.

Here's my wedding plans:

H-m-m-m-m! Let's see; Floyd gives the groom and groomsmen their haircut.
Goober lubes the limousine. Gomer sings The wedding song. Aunt Bee sew's the
bride's dress. Howard signs the marriage license. Clara Edwards plays the
organ. Opie is ring-bearer and his little friend (I can't recall her name)
is flower-girl.

Barney directs traffic to the wedding at All Souls. Then leads the wedding
procession to the reception hall, siren blaring, hand waving out the car
window (two blocks to the Mayberry Hotel).

We all know who bartends (non-alcoholic drinks, except for the punch!). I
think Gentleman Dan sells the rings.

Andy.....well I guess I'd just have to have Andy be my BEST-MAN.

Honeymoon in Manteo!

Ted in INDY!

Didn't I read somewhere that Andy moved back to North Carolina while he was

Howdy Folks,

I don't know if this has been ever discussed here before but my wife and
I were watching a tape of Andy last night. We saw a jail scene and we
were wondering if anyone can recall anytime when a "prisoner" was in jail
other than overnight? In other words more than 2 days or more. Let's have
fun with this one.

Relax, what's your hurry? Pants stuck in a boot,
a trip to Mount Pilot ... for a good suit.

To Raleigh for club and Jubal's for fire,
In Mayberry even Barney sings in the choir.

Winkin' Blinkin' & Nod and another called Dickie
Even Barney is a bird in this world, very tricky.

For Olive, a quarter tip is enough,
For Opie to lose in the race was so tough.

For Floyd, a ruined hamburger isn't his fault.
Another time "AL" busted out of a vault.

A Fise named Fife with bullet in pocket,
His Preamble hair .. like finger in socket.

Andy and Mary alone in a car,
Can town with Barney be not very far?

With Lydia and Goober, you now have six
paring 'em up, in the middle, she gets sick.

Leon around with PB&J
Eddie Brooke hiding, up in the hay.

Red haired son that has questions in head,
Eagle-eye Annie traded, for jacket for bed?

Cousin Karen with gun, a very good shot,
Mayberry Deputy Barney, sadly, is not.

Ernest T. will come hither his hand with a rock
One time corn squeezin's, with water in jail's crock.

Otis will be wanting more than a swaller',
A head in a harness can make you some taller.

Manicure all of my fingers, especially my trigger,
A gold truck through Mayberry, nothing is bigger.

Andy, Barney and Fun Girls! in a booth,
Not everything Johnny Paul says is the truth.

The tater chips are groovy, the pickes..they ain't,
Dry as dust is a sermon that comes from a saint.

A license is needed sometimes when you're fishin'
Jump in and hang on, three things you're a wishin'.

Keyed up and all of those sounds from a jug
Has anyone wondered if Schumps hair is a rug?

My dad "Monroe painted" my woodworking shed,
Three at the table, Peggy's dinner she fed.

Is a Rose any less sweet if replaced by a Bee?
Someone come unlock us from the cell with a key.

Sarah, get me Juanita down at the diner,
Shows in the 60's, nothing was finer.

Tex, whadda ya say we take you back home
A town, like Mayberry, is where we belong.

Another ice cream soda, PHarmacy Gal.
Andy and Barney; a cousin, a pal.

Electronical marvel in the cell is a bug.
Big Jeff come to town for a wife and a hug.

Away in a manger, a cell and a bed.
Christmas with Ben, a good-eatin' spread.

A head of read and the black eye's a beaut.
Here come the "engaged", hooty-hoo hooty hoot.

A dancin' Gomer and date with Grace.
A cousin with sewn fingers, Wally's his place.

It's not so much by the book, but by heart.
Sorry...I done 10-4'ed ya - got thawing beef in a cart.

Floyd, Howard, Otis, Briscoe and Bee,
They're still alive every night on TV.

I'll never forget "My, aren't you kind,?!"

I think it would be great to get married in Andy's former Church. What would
also be fun would be to wake a Justice of the Peace in the middle of the night
to see if he'd perform the ceremony in his night cap and shirt. In fact, if
someone were to get married by the Justice of the Peace, then they'd need to go
ahead and get married by a preacher because some folks don't recognise weddings
if they aren't performed by a preacher - just ask Ernest T.

I also like the idea of a Mayberry matchmaker. I'm married now, but maybe if
someone like Mrs. Wiley had invited me and my sweetheart to a social - we might
have gotten together sooner!

and perform each year during Mayberry Days. This is a fun family show and
that will also feature WBMUTBB member Jeff Branch as "Howard" welcoming the
crowd and also performing with his maracas. WBMUTBB member Gary Wedemeyer
(of www.mayberry-emporium.com) may also be there to render a song or two
(Caterwalling!?!). You can visit the VW Boys website at wwww.vwboys.com for
more information on the band. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Surry

Right after I sent the mail about Ron Howard hanging with you know who, I
thought about it, and realized it may be close to breaking rule #2. But no
mean spiritedness was meant, just my usual twisted sense of humor, and kind of
a feeling of sadness to see who Opie was runnin' with these days. I can
separate the man from his work. No more politics or relig.....never mind. But
I still say if the new movie "The Alamo" comes out knocking those true heroes,
I won't go to see it "even if it has Rock Hudson in it" (reference from a TAGS
episode). By the way, breaking rule #2 means breaking rule #1, as well, I
guess. Again, sorry for any discomfort. The only political chant I'll sing in
the future is "WE WANT ELLIE!".

PS: Ron Howard's production parner's name is Brian Grazer, I believe. Anyone
have any other info on him? I always see him in shots with Ron. Was just
wondering what he did before teaming up with Opie.

Hey Neighbors!

Andy's boyhood home in Mt. Airy is in fact two beds but no
breakfast. We stayed there last fall and had a great time.
It has a full kitchen but you have to do your own cooking
so it's not a bed and breakfast in that sense.

The house is owned by the Hampton Inn and they provide
daily cleaning, towels, etc. like a typical hotel room. It
has been furnished as it might have been fifty or sixty
years ago and also has a lot of Mayberry games and videos.
The kitchen is big and bright but the bathroom is tiny just
like they all used to be.

We kind of felt like celebrities ourselves what with all
the people stopping to take pictures. We also felt a bit of
an obligation to share our good fortune with our fellow
fans so we let some of them in to take a look around.

We heard there was some talk of turning it into a museum of
sorts. I don't know if that will ever happen but if you've
thought about staying there you might ought to go ahead and
make a reservation before the opportunity is gone. If
you've ever dreamed of spending the night in "Mayberry",
staying in "Andy's Homeplace" is as close as you can get.
You can go to their website at andyshomeplace.com.

He sure did. My memory is vague (which is normal for me), but didn't
Andy initially think the neighbor's cat had something to do with the
demise of the songbird before Opie admitted his bad aim? He mentioned
the lady's name, but I disremember it. Seems like he also had fun
teasing a neighbor over the back fence once for listening in on a
backyard conversation. Perhaps in "Only a Rose". Help me on these
shadowy details y'all with a quick mind.

I think we should all chip in a quarter (sorry, Olive) and buy Allan (aka

chairsone for Allan, one for Jan and one for their son. It9s perfect.
There are about 1,500 members of the wbmutbb chapter, so at .25 ea., that
comes to $375.00, which is more than enough! (I had a little ciphering help
