Over at the barber shop this morning, a bunch of the guys cuttin' up with
Floyd and Jason says that Leonard Blush is going to be on American Idol.
Jason had that twinkle in his eye so I figure he was just winding Floyd up.
But you never know about Leonard, the boy can sing. You ever heard him and
Rafe together? Extry special.

Hey folks,

I just spoke to George "Goober" Lindsey and he told me he has a new show
coming up on the Turner South Network. It's called "Lies and Legends" and he
will
be hosting. The first episode is set to air on March 4. Be sure to support
George and check it out. It should be some good TV!!

In addition to the two mentioned, Andy is also in Boxers when Aunt Bee is
Baby sitting Evie Joy. He actually seems embarrassed about it. He is never
seen in tighty-whiteys, only boxers.

Andy is show in a nightshirt and pajamas in "the Feud" episode.

Howard is in Pajamas in the Bowling episode and in the episode where the
foursome stays in the cabin.

On a rerun of "Dallas" Tuesday, I saw Mayor Stoner
(Parley Baer) playing the minister who re-married J.R.
and Suellen. "That's Stoner...S-T-O...Stoner..."

Also, on an episode of "Green Acres" last night, our
favorite dipsomaniac, Otis Campbell (Hal Smith) was
playing...the County Sheriff!

Wow, I had no idea. I like Clay but I actually pulled for Ruben in the
"American Idol 2003."

Does anyone have an exhaustive list of famous people who've professed to be
Mayberry fans (Bernie Mac, Oprah, Billy Bob Thornton)?

I really don't mean to start a big moulage but Clay
Aiken is gay, which of course so is Jim Nabors ,so
maybe that still makes him Mayberrish? as a Christian
I don't believe in that, but it does not stop Gomer
from being Gomer, so maybe Clay would fit in? I will
have to put my bucket on and think about it.

>>>>>I believe that is Clay Aiken, the runner-up to
last year's American
Idol winner. He seems to be a very decent young man.
He recently
graduated from college (in NC, I believe) with a
degree to teach special
education. I think he'd fit right in to Mayberry.>>>>

Stop this line of conversation before it gets started, PLEASE.

This is NOT a topic of discussion which belongs here on the Digest. I
have no confirmation for any of the statements made nor do I want any.
We are not the tabloid news here so lets not get into this AND lets
assume the information may be in error and leave it at that.

Wow! What a bunch of responses to my question. A couple of people e-mailed me
directly with the answer. I do not watch much of the current TV shows and I
have not seen American Idol, so I guess I am behind the times. As long as I
can be behind the times in Mayberry, I don't mind. Thanks to everyone who
responded to my question.

I am praying for Aunt Bee of Orlando and her husband. I'm glad to hear that I
am not the only one. Mayberry is such a wonderful place. I know that the
support from my Mayberry friends meant a lot to me when my dad was very ill.
Thanks to everyone's prayers, he fully recovered. I hope that our support
makes Aunt Bee's burden a little lighter.

Thanks to Andy Griffith and the rest of the cast and crew for creating this
wonderful place built on love. They built it and now we maintain it. May love
and friendship continue to be the glue that holds it together.

Dear Aunt Bee of Orlando,
I can't begin to tell you how heartbreaking it was seeing your
request for prayer for your beloved. I know there is nothing any of us can do
for
you except pray, but I know there are a lot of us out here who are doing just
that. You sent me a very kind e-mail right after I joined TAGSRWC. You may
not remember me, but I was the former skinhead hatemonger. You helped me
realise
that Mayberry isn't just a fictional place on an old TV show, but a very real
community where people actually care about others. I mention that because I
want you to know that your community is thinking of you, praying for you, and
hoping that in the coming days you can find some peace. God is with you.
Please keep us posted if you can.

Your friend, your neighbor, Garry

*********** TAGSRWC HQ NEWS ***********

For any folks still undecided about whether to attend the Mayberry cast
reunion at Gaylord Opryland Hotel in June (and for those who already have
tickets,
but are eager to know exactly which stars are scheduled to attend), you'll be
glad to know that Don Knotts and George Lindsey are the first officially
confirmed stars. Another 8 or 9 stars are expected and should be ready to
announce
soon.
