Someone may have already mentioned this, but Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune is
a fan. I saw an episode where the puzzle was The Andy Griffith Show and Pat
confessed that he's such a fan, and he's seen the shows so often, he can quote
from them. Vanna didn't seem to know much about it, maybe Pat can convince her
to watch.

I thought Clay Aiken was that country music singing youngun........... ;)
(just kidding) if they had had American Idol in 1960 I wonder who in
Mayberry would have won......my vote would be for Nurse Peggy, singing Down
In The Valley or Charlene for There Is A Time.

Harriet, wonder why there were so many chickens in and around Mayberry?
Cracked corn is used in the making of moonshine...

think about, Leonard Blush?"........"Sylviaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"............

>Does anyone have an exhaustive list of famous people who've professed to
>be Mayberry fans (Bernie Mac, Oprah, Billy Bob Thornton)?

Years ago there was a show called Nashville Now (originally hosted by Ralph
Emery) with Lori Crook and Charlie Chase. They interviewed Marty Stewart -
the pretty boy country singer that was a back up for Andy Griffith when he
sang on Grand Ole Opry last summer. Marty mentioned that he was a big
T.A.G.S. fan. Lori and Charlie commented about what a great show it was and
then asked him how many episodes they made. He seemed to hem and haw and as
I was yelling 249 at the TV screen he said "something around 180". I
couldn't believe it - here's someone professing their claim of being such a
big fan and didn't know how many episodes were made. I'm sure he was
embarrased later to find out the exact number. And speaking of Grand Ole
Opry - it's not being broadcast anymore.....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW (sighing with
heavy heart and a big tear rolling down my cheek)

Harriet in Clearwater.....and missing Saturday night's picking and grinning
Chicken Thieves and Whatnot Chapter in Kelsey's Woods, USA

PS - I bet Oprah Winfrey knows how many epsiodes were made.........

Last week my wife and I visited Mt. Airy, NC, for the first time and we can't
wait to go back. What a wonderful town. We had lunch at the Snappy Lunch,
peeked in Floyd's City Barbershop window (there was a line to get in), shopped
at the Emporium, drove by Wally's Filling Station, the Andy Griffith Theatre,
and Andy's boyhood home. We only got to spend about 2 hours there (we were on
our way home to Peoria, IL, from Fayetteville, NC). We're already planning on
going back in July and staying longer. We both left tips when we ate at the
Snappy Lunch. I was going to go back in and put my hat on one of them, but my
wife said to let her have them both.

Did anyone notice that the episode of Dogs, Dogs, Dogs a couple of nites ago
on TV Land had the famous line "giraffes are selfish" cut out of the scene?
Barney started talking about giraffes and I was anxiously waiting the line and
then they cut the last part of the scene out. Is this so they can run more
commercials? Boy, TV Land sure is selfish.

Dear Aunt Bee,

I want you to know that I have went to God's Throne in prayer on behalf of your
husband. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and by His
stripes we are healed. I pray right now on this Digest that the Lord would
destroy every cancer cell in your husband's body and replace them with good
cells. Whoever wants to agree with me in this prayer, just reply to the digest
and say I agree or Amen. We fellow Mayberryians love you and are thinking
about you.

I agree with Allan about keeping our little corner of the world free from
negative comments. I refered one time to the little skunk, Flower in Disney's
Bambi saying " if you can't say anyhing good about somebody, don't say
nuthin"
I think should hold here too. Expressions of love & concern for Aunt Bee in
Orlando are what we are all about, & our love & prayers are with her.

Thank you, Allan, for doing some needed bud nipping. Celebrities all have
private lives and they should be kept just that - private. Some things are
just none of the public's business unless the celebrity chooses to make the
information public. That goes for religious affiliations or the lack thereof,
health problems, their families, and lots of other things. And speculation on
unconfirmed tidbits can be harmful, not to mention that it creates a big
moulage. If a Christian does not approve of the actions of another person, the
Christian should pray for that person. It is not up to any person to judge
another person. And a Christian should not be discussing anything about
another person that could harm that person or his/her reputation unless there
is a compelling reason to do so. It starts out in reality as a little scratch
on the finger and, with the help of a little bit of gossip, ends up as a fatal
gunshot wound to the chest. We would all do well to remember the!
lesson of "Those Gossipin' Men" before we open our mouths or start typing.

You read any book on the subject of digest monitoring and every one of them is

There is one other instance I can think of where we see Andy in his boxers.
It's a scene often edited out of "Andy's English Valet", when Malcolm
Merriweather is first introduced as a character. Malcolm is trying to help
Andy get dressed in the morning for work. Andy is standing in his boxers and
says "No sir! I'll put my own pants on." (or something like that).

Hey all you Mayberry fans.Keep up the good chatter I'm learning a lot that I
never even thought about.
The little town that I live in is a lot like Mayberry and you are helping me
to think about how I should
appreciate living here!! Thank you again.
