OK, since we've been talking about Andy Discovers America, I have to mention
my favorite flub. When the boys are in the office, somebody hollers that Ms
Crump is coming and all the boys bolt out of the room. On the way out, Opie
drops a book right at the door. They continue with the scene and the book
on the floor. Eveybody manages to step around it and Barney clearly adjusts
a step to prevent stepping on it, all without ever looking down at the book.

I watched the gold truck episode over the weekend, and my whole family
laughed again when they saw Gomer, and that shotgun hanging out of the
passenger side of the squad car. It seems that no matter how many times
you watch any episode, you see something else that is hilarious every
time you watch the episode in the future. Didn't Andy tell Barney in
another episode the tell 'Gomer to get that shotgun out of his mouth'?
It was where Andy deputized Gomer. Maybe the light bulbs falling off
the roof episode???

Did everyone notice that Barney kept the gold truck guard's Thompson
Sub-Machine Gun. Shazam!

While we're talkin about The Giraffes are selfish edit, I noticed the other
night another memorable line cut. In Gomer the Houseguest, they cut out his
fishing story about Birdie Blush. The similarity is..it is a long set of
lines by one person, not essential to the story. I miss them both, but I
still like seeing the epilogues, which is the trade-off. Fortunately we
have another station here in Indy that shows the original versions, but
without the epilogue just like TBS and WGN used to.

Sorry about the tidey-whitey confusion...guess it means somethun different
here.

May I be one of the first to welcome Allan's mother. I saw her post the
other day...as "Floyd's Mom" (though she may have been here a long time).
She must be so proud to have raised such a prince of a gentlemen and
tireless volunteer and friend to Griffith fans everywhere. He's a great
bud-nipper too! (I will not pile on, I will not pile on)

Its been great to hear from Jan Newsome now and then (Mrs. Floyd), and now
"Floyd's Mom!-- Ann Newsome"
May we present you an honorary "Key to the City of our Virtual Mayberry"
(its actually a letter M off of a computer Keyboard) and present you with a
welcoming pie (Nestlerod). I Hereby Declare Floyd's Mom, as "Potato Queen
of the Month" any here-here's!

Hail to thee Ms. Potato Queen, Hail Hail Hail to thee, mother of founder of

Good morning neighbors....I was out shopping this weekend and heard a sales
person say that " I feel just like Barney Fife with one bullet in my pocket"
because for some reason the store was so stingy handing out supplies to be
used. Anyhow, I got a smile out of it...and I think sometimes we all feel
like Barney.....having something in our lives we need to take care of but
keeping the catalyst hid away in our pocket....I guess we find peace in
knowing the answer is there somewhere, but we refuse to let it out in the
open. (I guess we need Andy to tell us to get that bullet out.....)
A little Mayberry philosophy ....

Lots of luck to you and yours,
!!~~!! Vivian

James Best fans may want to check out their local Mays department stores
(Famous Barr, Strawbridges, Hechts, Foleys, et al) as they have a new
t-shirt with the General Lee on it for $20. Would be great for having
James Best autograph!

Subject: WBMUTBB Prayers & Praises Mailing lists and more
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey folks,

In light of me asking that we stay on "topic" here on the WBMUTBB Digest I
wanted to make sure that all of you knew of other outlets for areas of concern
you might have other than here on the Digest.

First off is the WBMTUBB Prayers & Praises Digest.

To sign up all you need to do is send an e-mail to:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I guess I should tell a little about what WBMUTBB Prayers & Praises is.
Basically it is a list for WBMUTBB members to share their needs and joys with
one
another without it being here on the Digest which really isn't the place for
religious discussions. I created the P&P list so folks
that did want to discuss and share their faith could do so.

For anybody that would like to sign up for the WBMUTBB Prayers &
Praises....just e-mail that address above. I hope you'll join us.

You might also be unaware of "The Golden Door to Good Fellowship" bulletin
board. This is a private bulletin board where only WBMUTBB members can post
messages. It was originally set up for those few folks here at the WBMUTBB
Digest
that didn't like the rule about keeping things positive. It was a place where
they could go and vent about things without all the rest of the members having
to read the messages. Truthfully...it's not a very busy bulletin board and
it's now used as a place for members to talk to one another in a more informal
way. Feel free to drop by and post a message anytime.

I'm listing all the Mayberry related Mailing list that I run below just in
case somebody would like to sign up and didn't know about 'em.

I have been a lurker on this newsletter for quite a while and would just
simply like to finally speak up here in support of what Mayberry means to me
which is being supportive of each other in times of happiness and sadness.
I would like to just say Amen AND I agree to both Rev. Jackson's prayer for
Aunt Bee's husband, as well as the post about the dangers of gossip and how
a Christian should not speak judgmentally about a person's private life and
instead simply pray for someone whose actions they may disagree with. I
don't recall there ever being an episode of TAGS where being judgmental was
portrayed as a Christian virtue regardless of the issue at hand, and what
Mayberry means to me is simply loving your fellow man no matter what.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my feelings here and I'll go back to
lurking now!

Last week someone on the digest said that Lassie was on TAGS.
Which episode was Lassie on?
I already looked in the archives of the digest and I didn't see where it
was listed.
