I always remembered that Fletcher was his last name and his first name was
"Tate." That was the impression I got form watching the episode where the
cows were being stolen. I could be wrong, however.

Subject: No more corner room at the Y?!

Today's News & Observer has an article that includes, "The Raleigh Y might
be best known to some as Barney Fife's choice of vacation destination in
"The Andy Griffith Show." But to 96 men, it's still home."

The Central YMCA in Raleigh is going to be razed and rebuilt to better meet
the needs of families rather than men. I just hope they still have corner
rooms.

Looks like Barney is going to have to take vacations at Natural Bridge, VA
or New Orleans this summer.

>Didn't the Baldwin Sisters live up around Walton's Mountain?

No, they lived ON the mountain... Just a stone's throw from the Morrison
Sisters back door.......... The Baldwin ladies made their "recipe" with
whatever fruit happened to be in season (mentioned in one episode where
Jason Walton is hired to help make the recipe because the ladies want a
'special' batch to send to the President). What a hoot those ladies were.
Funny how the recipe always had the same color to it - if they used
different fruit............hmmm. Ron Howard played Seth in one episode
which created 4 TAGS links in one show - Hubcaps Lesch (Grandma Walton),
Opie, and the Baldwin sisters. Another episode Denver Pyle appeared. He and
Grandpa Walton were enjoying a "touch" of the "recipe". Other character
actors from TAGS appeared in The Waltons. The REAL Walton's mountain is
Schuyler, VA, where Chicken Thieves and Whatnot chapter leaders spent a few
days prior to Mayberry Days last year. At the museum you can actually see
the recipe machine but they don't sell any recipe.....doggone them low down
pesky buzzards!!! How we missed Mayberry, VA, on our way from Schuyler to
Mt. Airy is beyond me, but then I was driving and not
navigating..............Hey, Whatnot, how'd we miss it?

Harriet, how'd Laverne learn my chickens were partying at O'Malley's? I
gotta have a chicken heart talk with them!

......"Yea, the Morrison sister make real pretty flowers."...."Yea, and I
know why. They got a flower making machine."......"Opie, machines don't make
flowers, that's Mother Nature's job."........"Well, they got a machine to
help.".........

I can figure out what the splashes are, but what are pickups? A couple of days
ago my hubby and I were watching the Mavericks play and since I'm fairly new to
basketball, I asked him about pickups. He said he never heard of them. If not
basketball, what sport are they referring to?
