Sunday I was watching a movie on Turner Classic Movies (the old movie
channel) called "Three Daring Daughters" and the youngest looked very
familiar. It finally dawned on me that it was Eleanor Donahue. I watched
the credits at the end and sure enough it was her! They called her Mary
Eleanor Donahue. This cast also included Jane Powell and Jeanette McDonald
in it and Jose Iturbi played himself. This movie was made in 1948. It
really didn't have much of a plot outside of featuring the musical
performances.

I changed the Miss Mayberry song, written by Floyd, to a Barney Fife 45th
Anniversary tribute.
Oh hail to thee our Deputy,
Oh hail to thee, oh hail,
Your bullet and nervous energy,
Brings fear to those in jail.

Subject: ***NEWS FROM TAGSRWC HQ: Opryland Mayberry Event***
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I'm sorry to say that Jean Carson will be unable to attend the Mayberry Cast
Reunion at Gaylord Opryland Resort June 18 to 20. But there is some good
news: Elinor Donahue has just been added to Reunion's lineup. Also scheduled
are
Don Knotts, George Lindsey, The Dillards (Rodney Dillard, Doug Dillard and
Dean
Webb), Betty Lynn, Howard Morris, Maggie Peterson Mancuso, and Bernard Fox.
There are still a few of the weekend packages left. Purchasing these
packages, which include hotel rooms, is currently the only way to get get
tickets to
the Cast Reunion show. As of now, Gaylord Opryland has no plans to offer
Reunion show tickets separately from the packages. You can find details on the
Event
Calendar at www.tagsrwc.com or by calling Gaylord Opryland Resort at
1-888-677-9872.
That's all --

To further what Jim mentioned about Jean not being able to attend.
I spoke to her by phone the other day and she asked that I let her fans know
that she would be able to attend the Opryland event. She hates to miss it but
she is having some surgery done Tuesday, May 11th and she will need time to
recover and take it easy.
She doesn't want anyone to send flowers or anything but she did ask for our
prayers and good thoughts.
I did talk her into letting us send cards to her (it didn't take too much
talking) with our well wishes. I think those cards will lift her spirits and
let
her know that she's loved by her Fans here in Mayberry.
You have two options.
#1) E-mail me your prayers and well wishes and I'll make sure Jean gets
them.
#B) You can send cards directly to Jean. She gave me permission to give her
address to you and it's below. I know I don't have to say this but PLEASE DO
NOT ask for autographs or anything. We're just trying to lift her spirits and
let her know how much she means to us all.

I would like to mention that WBMUTBB has a Prayers & Praises e-mail list that
we normally use to share this type of information not only about cast and
crew but mostly about each other. If you'd like to be a member of that e-mail
list just send me a note asking to be added to the WBMUTBB Prayers & Praises.
Thanks!

If anyone (emphasis on one) is interesting in going to the Opryland Mayberry
Event on June 18-19th, I have half of a package that is available. It made
more sense to order the package for two because the cost difference for one
person was not that much. I have a pair of tickets to all the events and
half a room that is in need of someone interested in going "Dutch treat"
with me. The price is a little high for just one, so I am hoping to find
someone to split the deal with me. If you are interested, please email me
directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Don't miss your chance to quote Floyd and say "I'm going to Nashville." I
went in 2001 and it was an outstanding weekend.

Subject: Barney's 45th--Gomers plans go awry
Date: Tue, 11 May 2004 00:06:01 -0400
We're still counting' the days until May 16, 2004 the 40th anniv of Barney's
5 year anniversary with the Sheriff's office.
(in other words, his 45th Anniversary as a Mayberry lawman)
Following up on last weeks meeting Gomer had an idea, and he stops in the
Courthouse to report to Andy about it.
Gomer: Hey Andy
Andy: Hey Gomer, what's up?
Gomer: Well, about Barney's 45 day...You know you talked about Warren
couldn't do a 45-gun salute with the cannon, and you didn't won't Ernest T
Bass to do a 45-rock salute neither
Andy: Yes I remember that, so what's up?
Gomer: Well I thought maybe we could do something safer, so I rounded up
Opie and a bunch of boys, and I got Fletch to bring over those bows and
arrows he's got..like he did ya know on the camp-out. Only this time they
said they was Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
Andy (eyebrows begin to furrow) Gomer what happened?
Gomer: Well we decided to have some practice...we had 5 boys with 9 arrows
each and we thought we would fire them up the air 5 at a time. So it would
be a 45-Arrow Salute (Gomer smiles)
Andy: Go on
Gomer, Well you know that fella that said what goes up, must come down?
Andy: Yes......
Gomer: Well I guess he knowed what he was talkin about, because darned if
every one of those arrows didn't come down somewheres it town.
Andy (disgusted) What'd they hit
Gomer (pulls out a piece of paper and starts reading) . Well there was 7
arrows that hit Jamison's cows, but it was only 4 cows, I guess some of 'me
had multiple hits. Ole man Kelsey's Mule..he still mad and won't let ole
man Kelsey saddle him no more. And then two hit Mrs. Perkins's roof and
scared he cat fluffy under the house. She wants you to get Fluffy out,
since you have known her for a while.
One his Mrs. Larches clothesline and ripped her petticoat.
One hit Otis Campbell's whiskey bottle and knocked it out of his hand. He
ran to the church crying' and said he'd never drink again. and please don't
let the devil throw any more arrows at him
One arrow hit Mr. Schwamp on the head and kind of glanced off. Somebody
said there must be a pretty thick mat on that rug???
4 cars got scratched, and two trucks and poor Opie accidentally hit a
songbird.
Other than that they all came down fine
Andy: Gomer!
Gomer--Cancel the 45-arow salute?
Andy: Yeah buddy, and right now
Well that the latest
