When I moved from the smaller town of Freemont Ohio to the big city of Cleveland, they had a different type of school system back in the 30s. In Freemont we had a whole year system & you either passed or failed. The Cleveland system had the half year system with As & Bs. Because the Freemont system was behind in Arithmetic, I got put back into 4 A after being in the 5th grade in Freemont . I was very upset needless to say & since my mom was very good in Arithmetic had they discussed it with her, I'm sure she could have helped me catch up instead of sticking me back in the 4th grade. Even though I'm turning 81 tomorrow, & all those years have passed since then I still ticks me off!!
