Well, here's my take on it. Of course you're right in stating that every fan should buy the DVDs. Why? Because we know it's a great show. In fact, EVERY person who buy TAGS on DVD already knows it's a great show. How do they know this? (Pay attention, this is important): They know it's a great show because they've already seen it on TV. If they've only become a fan in the last 7 or 8 years, then it's almost certain they've never watched on any other network except TVLand. Now, suppose you're looking through the DVDs at your local video store, and you come across a boxed set of DVDs for an old TV show called "The Joe Shlabotnik Show" (there's no such show, I just made it up). Would you buy the DVDs? Of course not, you're never heard of this show, nor has anybody else. Who would pay money for DVDs of a show nobody ever heard of? That's why networks like TVLand are important. Sure, they show a lot of stupid stuff that most of us will never watch, but my point is that if there ever comes a time when no stations are airing TAGS, then eventually a day will come when the young people of America are unaware that this show even exists, and that would be a great shame.
