Dave, Wild Guess!!!!! He was only on TAGS once, he was
a friend of Andy Griffith's from the old days at the theatre on Roanoke
Island. He played a lot of roles in movies and TV but not sure if he ever
played Sheriff Taylor. Was the person you are looking for "R.G.
Armstrong"?
