I love this Saturdays visit to Mayberry. Crowd was small because of the rain but the rain really wasnt much nuisance at all. I got to meet many Mayberry characters that day. All of them had all the time you could ask of them. Here I took a vid of Earnest T. http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=43658727 I asked him to do the Charlene Serenade and he picked up his can and started banging. I recorded all the song but my camera was fighting to focus in the dark room at the beginning. I should have told him we wanted to hear 'Goober Peas' after that but maybe Earnest's Goober Peas song should be left unheard. I learned later that the large scale in the drugstore that I weighed myself on was the same one that Andy and his friends from school used to use to weigh themselves. The drugstore was the hangout place for the school kids back in those good ole days. I also made the TAGS meeting to listen to Andys Best Friend 'Emmett' tell about his friendship with Andy. He said when Andy was about 7 years old ( did he say about 9 ) theres was a big tree and a rope that the kids around swung on. Andy took a swing one day and fell to the ground , damaging his back. Must have been permanent damage to the point the armed forces would not accept him. Well this is the best I can recount of the story. There was alot of neat stuff said and some cool video clips of Andys younger days. I heard at the meeting that Friday in Mayberry was dedicated to Andys Friend Emmett. Emmett said he was very suprised that noone leaked out the big suprise day for him. Obviously Barney did not hear about the event or Emmett would have known about it in seconds. There was so much going in town Saturday I cant say it all here. I did get the chance to yell out ' citizens arrest ' to one of the squard cars that went through town. At the time the driver wasnt doing a u-turn so I felt a bit out of place. I have started the gallery I spoke of a few days ago.
