I went to Siler City a few years ago and being the curious person that I am I spoke with a lot of people about Aunt Bee. I became good friends with several people there that I still stay in touch with. I spoke to the funeral director, the high sheriff, the cemetery keepers, to mention a few. While not all had nice things to say, Aunt Bee will always be a "darling person" in my heart. If anyone would like to read everything I wrote during my visit, just send me an email...several of you have already, but it was a very interesting visit. I took pictures of her house and her grave and the neighbor across the street gave me several keepsakes from her house that she had obtained after her death. I really enjoyed Mayberry Days and the porkchop sandwaich was delicious as always!! I am going to the Autum Festival for the first time on Oct 10-12. I am really looking forward to that.
