I had to laugh (and thank the Lord for that great pleasure) watching the episode "The Lucky Letter" Sunday night. The scene of Andy helping Barney look for the letter at the dump is a classic. The "Playboy"-type magazine Andy finds is funny, with Andy wondering who would order such a mag. "Barney!" But Andy then takes a long look at the centerfold and clearly enjoys it. Nice to see the sheriff with a healthy appetite. "Yeah, that's a fast lens." The other scene at the dump, looking for the second edition of the Mayberry Sun, is another all-timer. For such clean-living folks, the Andy gang knew how to get down and dirty for some classic laughs. Andy, Barney and Aunt Bee can't wait to read the scoops Opie and his partner have tracked down. That might explain Opie's career choice, according to "Return to Mayberry." TVland.com is showing episodes online so we can get an Andy fix anytime we choose.
