Peggy,
I think the actor you saw was Dub Taylor, who also played the pastor who
married Charlene Darling & Dud Wash. Later in the color episodes, he played
Emmitt's brother-in-law from Raleigh, the insurance salesman. There may be
other episodes where he turns up, but those are the ones I can think of.
