We all know that love and romance was very important in Mayberry being there
wasn't much else to do. So I put a bucket on my head and gave myself a good
think about what were some of the most romantic events in Mayberry. While
there were countless events to choose from, here is my list of Greatest
Moments of Romance in Mayberry.
10. Goober and Lydia Crosswaite out for a drive with Andy, Helen, Barney,
and Thelma Lou and Lydia
sticks her head out the window like a dog and loses her hair ribbon.
9.. Fred Goss asking Aunt Bee to the dance while a cigarette dangles in
his mouth.
8.. Briscoe Darling serenading Aunt Bee under her window after she recites
a poem to him.
7.. Opie spending all his money on a pair of nylon stockings for Helen
Crump.
6.. Jeff Pruitt standing on the corner picking up girls to see how much
they weighed.
5.. Andy and Mavis Neft parking out in the country after Andy had a fight
with Helen and Andy learns root beer makes Mavis bubbly wubbly all over.
4.. Gomer sitting on the couch with Mary Grace and the hair on his legs
sticks out of his new porous yellow socks.
3.. Ernest T. courting Hoggette Windslow and hitting her on the head with
a rock.
2.. Debonair Floyd meeting Madeline Grayson for the first time..
1.. Ernest T. kidnapping Charlene at her wedding only to learn he has
really kidnapped Barney.
