We received our Who Are You People? A Personal Journey into the Heart of Fanatical Passion in America book last night and the chapter called Mayberry Daze was really great! I loved the story about the "Lady in Red" and the trivia contest. The author also had breakfast with David Browning, Kenneth Junkin, and Allan Newsome and she writes about their conversation. I love the part when Allan talks about speaking like Floyd around his family and not realizing it... too funny.

There is a book written by Shari Caudron called Who Are You People? A Personal Journey into the Heart of Fanatical Passion in America. The book needless to say is about various American fanatical passions. Guess what one of the fanatical passions are in the book??? Fans of the Andy Griffith Show!!! Shari Caudron attended Mayberry Days in 2003 and she writes about Kenneth Junkin (Otis), the other tribute artists, and the various Mayberry Days events including the trivia contest. My husband and I were also very excited to read an excerpt from the book that talked about our "Mayberry Wedding" Anyway, I thought it may be something all of you may want to check out. We bought a few copies of the book and we can't wait until it arrives in the mail!!!
